Hey ppl

just a 4 days ago Rooney said he is very honest & NOT A DIVER...Now lets see if he gets punished...in my opinion he won't coz he is English and Man Utd player...no such luck for players of other countries and Arsenal.

They banned Eduardo for doing the same thing and he got banned for it and AF agreed with the sentiments. I wonder if he will admit to Ronney's diving. The spotlight will be on FIFA and EUFA for dishing out punishment. I think they will ban him for some matches. CR7 and co did it week in and week out in the EPL. I think the knives are out on Rooney, especially Wenger and co. Will be an interesting few days to see what punishment rooney gets and how long he gets banned if he does.

:D:D:D

He did fall... did he appeal for the penalty? I just saw the slide.

There's no question that the ref got it wrong tho'.

Yep, he appealed.... not a good advertisement for a friendly.

Thats rich coming from a user names Stevie G, who is also a diver of note.

Rooney dived against Arsenal and he dived last night!

He is a diver.

What's worse is that he injured the defender in the process...

//I'm a Rooney fan (not ManU though!)

Was a 50-50 incident. They were pulling each others' shirts. Was NOT a penalty. Poor decision by the ref.

NOTHING like Eduardo's dive or Eboue's against us. Don't confuse a blatant attempt to con a red (Eduardo, Eboue) with a poor decision from the ref. Arguably it was a foul BY Rooney. I thought he was appealing against the award of a free-kick against him. :o

But anyway.

:)

It's a friendly, so I didn't watch it. What does it say about Slovenia that they care so much about a dive in a friendly match. But then again what does it say about Rooney that he needs to dive in a friendly match against Slovenia. I give up.

He probably dived. He's a tosser.

BTW, I'm a Utd and Eng Fan.

Rooney did dive against Arsenal hj.. he was going down before Almunia touched him, he did it with the intention to decieve the ref just as Eduardo did, the difference being Almunia assisted him in getting away with it by touching him

Eduardo is just being victimized, he dived in a game which was already dead, unlike Kuyt who dived in the CL quarter final 2 years ago against Arsenal, which took Liverpool to the semi final

Gerrard is also far from innocent

as for Eboue, hes just a moron, and it'd be fantastic if he was banned from football for life

their theatrics is one of the reasons I watch so little footie nowadays ... bone crunching rugby or cricket for me! :)

If there is contact its not a dive imho. So the one vs arsenal is not a dive in my book. Didn't see the one last night thought. Eduardo is clearly dive since there's no contact from the keeper.

haha, I have heard the same from most Arse supporters. The difference is that Almunia DID touch him. Had he not, it would have been as bad as Eduardo's dive and I would have castigated him for it.

the point being rooney and eduardo had the same intention, to decieve the ref, so it was a dive.. almunia didnt cause rooney to fall over

It is a difficult one. Rooney started going down, expecting contact, which then came.

Eduardo went down when there was little chance of contact and there was none.

thanks, so we both agree that they both went to ground unnecassarily ;) and with the intention to decieve the ref
:)

No. Rooney went to ground expecting contact. It was not great, but he had hardly starting going to ground when he got taken out by the keeper. Penalty. No dive.

What Eduardo did was way way different.

:)

exactly, the point being 'rooney went to ground', almunia didnt take rooney down, rooney took himself down expecting contact from almunia, which is also, decieving the ref ;)

it was no different, eduardo also expected contact
