Back to this for a mo, personal perspective - not loyal, nor a hater, but endlessly fed up with their "service" krap. They've had a billion feedback opportunities to improve things, so deserve what's happening now.ALL DSTV whining aside ,

Personality I hope Amazon takeover Supersport and make sports streaming affordable.
For as long as the underlying behaviour of dstv or multichoice they will continue to bleed revenue. They have no understanding of the entertainment business and their consumer. Their arrogance and ignorance is predictably heralding its eventual demise.DStv owner under siege
MultiChoice is facing an uncertain future with declining broadcast numbers, and its strategy around new revenue streams is far from being a sure thing.
Market researcher Nielsen has revealed that the time people spend watching cable and broadcast channels has fallen to less than half of all TV viewing.
The market hasn't been able to stop piracy in 30 years in other industries. What makes you think the streaming industry will do better? That "free" is an illusion, sooner or later the market will find a way to stop much of the leak. They already could prosecute for some of it, just not a safe bet so they're not.... yet.
Unlike Starlink Amazon already have a local presence. They have had an aws presence for a long time here. Pretty sure that and their planned expansion into SA for a marketplace also needs to meet local requirements.Sure only relevant is Brazil. Doubt there is a business case for SA. Never mind all the broadcasting rules that they wouldn’t bother to navigate, much like star link. Just not worth the effort.
