Having this annoying issue. When wifi devices are on idle/standby router drops wifi connection on them.
Router running in default mode.

Openserve fiber with Afrihost TP-Link Ex511.

Seems the router is faulty.

Check if you have an APSD setting and turn it on if it's off, or off if it's on.

Never had any issues with any TP-Link device ...

more than ½ of electronic devices is manufactured from something out of China 🤪
It’s not about the fact that it’s made there.
The issue is the firmware and entire product is designed and made in Ching Chong.

Shortcuts were taken
Back doors implanted
Flaky code
Suboptimal RF design

Most hacked devices on the planet... alongside all the garbage camera kit out there.

TP-Link zombies have been involved in some truly impressive DDoS attacks recently.

Ubiqiti is where it's at.
Correct… I do not advise anyone to use those pieces of crap unless they have flashed a different firmware from a third party if possible

Will try some user suggestions + Afrigirl recommendations.

Wifi clients never experienced any issue when OS wifi ont was active as a web connect.

Before going into replacement, just wondering if firmware downgrades might resolve the issue.

So no firmware available convincing tplink is really crap ...

Do yourself a favour and get a separate device for routing (like a Mikrotik) and a separate dedicated access point (like a Reyee AP or a Unifi AP). Those APs will handle hundreds of wifi clients without even blinking. Even better get a mini pc with 16GB of RAM, a N100 CPU and at least 2 NICs and build your own router with Opnsense.
