Hi,I set a static IP on my PC about 2 weeks ago because i was getting "the lease to IP was lost" error everyday.
Everything was fine for 2 weeks, now everyday theres a new problem.First the Power Light and ethernet lights on the router were on but no DSL and Internet.
Had to reset modem and setup everything in the router again.

It worked fine, then this morning,7 Lights on the router were on,all the ethernet lights and DSL and Internet lights were on,but internet not working. Also when this happens i am unable to login to the router, have to reset modem and eventually i can login and re-enter details.

Could this be a firmware problem?

Thanks.

You'll have to give us some more information (router model?), but it sounds more like a hardware problem - all the ethernet lights on if nothing is plugged into those ports is definitely a bad sign. Is it overheating? Many of the common small home router models overheat and they go a little random as a result.

Oh sorry its the Mega 100WR2.Well the user guide says 100WR2 the router shows 100WR.

I think lilggg is correct sounds like hardware.
Those Mega routers were never any good I'm afraid. You can try a firmware upgrade but I think you will end up buying a new router.
I would suggest a Netgear or possibly a D-link.
They have worked well for me over the years.

Out of nowhere the DSL and internet lights are on,and the correct ethernet light is on,nothing loads but windows updated.

not good?! yea its probably not the best router in the world but mine still works after 6 years. (still going strong).
