I contacted miscrosoft as advised by the FAQ - they said that while it is no longer under warranty (one year only) the RROD is still covered and taking it back to IC for a direct swap wasnt an option. If u have a slip take it to any I corruption ! they all are connected so swopping it out at another store close 2u shouldnt be a problem !

thats hogwash afaik .. it's 3 years.
Microsoft refused me the option of taking it back for a swap out. They said my only option was them sending a courier to collect it and that I could expect it back within 3 to 5 weeks.ok now you're just confussling me .... you bought it where you live right, it's within the 3 year warranty period right, you have proof of purchase right, you got a MS ref number .... so what am I missing?
(curious now .. soz for the 20 questions)

Yes. Even though I have the slip and it is still within the three year rrod warranty that was my only option.

I pointed out to them several times that I am living in South Africa but you never know. They did the same to me, because they believed I lived in the UK. When my mailing labels arrived and I pointed out to them that I live in South Africa, thy told me to take it in for a swopout, using the reference they gave me. Only problem was that store such as i ncredible corruption refused to do the swop out.
Yes Yes Maestro I fully trust you dudeIts just that I'm low on cash at the moment... So you would be my first choice if I had to choose someone
Just that I spent a hefty amount of money on my HD TV - took me quite a while to save up for it.
DHL just called to arrange collection so I guess they realise that I'm not in the UK.They did the same to me, because they believed I lived in the UK.
