RROD - I'm desperate

I'm just wondering where on earth your Xbox is on it's way too with DHL :confused: ..... methinks you're gonna have one heck of a wait and at the end of it might get back the same unit but 'refurbished' ...... it's stinky that whole affair, very stinky.

with IC receipt + microsoft referance number i had an elite with a harddrive problem...IC had no elite stock left to do a swap out...End of it i got a credit from IC for it to go to Musica who did have Elite stock.
So IC are supposed to swap out far as i know ok.

I have no doubt that Incredible corruption would swap it out but Microsoft would not give me the required reference number.

Hey you guys are dangerous to talk to, now mines just gone RRod tonite!!

1st time i've had it on for month's...played a bit of COD4 to get the feel of the controls again,put it over onto the dashboard screen,left the room to purchase a 3 month live subscription to go hit some Live,walk back into the room with my laptop to hook it up and WTF 3 rings of death flashing away!

Have reciept/box + everything so be interesting to see if mine has to take a trip to Praque or what the go is re swapping out 2moro.
 
there should be no Prague involved at all ..... just don't forget to get your ref number from MS ;)

How old is it? The word I got was that as mine was not under normal warranty it wasn't eligible for the swap out. Hope you have better luck than I did.

This is one of the scariest posts I have ever read. You go about your daily life, playing your Xbox whenever you want without a care in the world. So much so that you dont even stop to think "It could never happen to me", but then when you read posts perhaps you do stop and think and perhaps you do say to yourself, "it could never happen to me". But then it does. :(
 
Well my RROD came to be an easy fix.....
Talking to MS to get a Ref no they then wanted to know the colours on the power supply light with the unit both on + off.
My power supply light was red with console both on + off
(console power light during this time was still green tho)
With a simple unplug/replug of the power supply from the mains the red light on the power supply was no more red + the unit starts up fine without RROD:)

Doh!!!

Yeah, there is that, an RRoD is 3 lights not 4, I wonder how many folks have sent of 360 when their power supply isn't plugged in properly :p

What colour is that console :confused: !

RROD does not kill a console initially my original came back from rrod and i was able to play for a full day until it decided to really go to heaven !

Ur console should be a falcon due to it's manufacture date and if the console is @ the dashboard it doesnt really use any resources so i am suprised that it rrod like that.

PS it is not advisable to sandwich the console like that

Try putting it on top of the dstv decoder or try finding another space for it
