RTX 3080

Which CPU and RAM are you using. 80 FPS seems low to be honest.

I was being modest I just know it’s never below 80 @65 degrees..... i7 6700 + 16 gb DDR4 2666mhz. 60hz monitor overclocked to 77hz (I know I need a new monitor) lol

That graph is a little depressing, because I have a 1070 8GB, and I want to upgrade to a card that is at least as good as a 1080Ti.

Even something like 3 years and 2 generations after the release of the 1080Ti, I'd have to buy a 3070 class card to beat a 1080Ti. I'm not sure whether a 6700 could do it.

The 5700XT is faster than a 1080ti. I'm fairly confident the 6700 will outperform the 5700xt.

There are no 6700s

6800 (two models) and 6900.

The cheaper 6800 competes with the RTX2080 Ti/RTX3070. The more expensive 6800 with the RTX3080 and 6900 with the RTX3090.

They match up well and are better even in some games, specifically paired with AMD CPUs that can access the smart memory on the cards directly now.

Not true, have 5700xt, and benched 1080ti it runs circles around it
Show me those circles please?

Id say they pretty much on par. Some titles the 5700 outperforms the 1080ti and vice versa.

I'd rather take a brand new 5700xt over a 3 year old mined to oblivion 1080ti.

The rumour and shilling mill is still running high

Adored, who digs AMD, has thrown a question mark at the 'upto' indicator on the marketing slides. All he said was, "Erm...", now people are speculating that AMD chose the highest FPS  That would be bad, but I am sure it will be average numbers otherwise it will be a scandal, but not one which will have the AMD crowd in a twist since AMD is the good guy in team Red's view.

Others, with their 'leaks', are suggesting that AIB 6800 XT cards will surpass the 3090.

Funny, especially since some are under the impression that AMD used DLSS with their Nvidia benchmarks.

Giving people crumbs he is,

Look at more recent benchmarks. Drivers have improved a lot. It's more on par with most games with a 2070s.

Here are some recent benchmarks.

Jump to 18 minutes for RECENT benchmarks in which the 1080Ti still beats the 5700XT, although not by a massive margin.

We know, but we also know that AMD will announce more cards further down the stack, like the 6700. Just like Nvidia is going to launch a 3060 one day.

I maaaaay have some of these cards in December when I visit Singapore if all goes well with the restrictions etc. Will be a shyteload cheaper than here certainly - I'll try and buy as much is allowed by customs. Founders Editions.

They're probably under R8 999 there or cheaper.

Buy two. Sell one of them when you get back here, and the price difference would nearly be enough to pay for one of them.

How are you going to obtain Founder Editions? The cycle seems to be done and dusted.

Both the Asus TUF and Gigabyte Eagle, which are mainstream, are priced in accordance with MSRP and both were well received. There should be many other GPUs like Galax, Palit, etc.

Guy I am going to see owns an electronics distribution chain so I'm sure he has quite a few kept.
