First I've ever heard about this - it might be a douchebag mod. was this on the Gamers Haven server? I'm guessing it was another server... cause i've never seen anyone booted for any reason.

There is some weird issues with the latest RUST patch which cause violation kicks of certain zones and if you lag or rubberband and all of a suden you on a diffrent location it will kick you as well for violation, it's not something we added mod wise doing that it came with the latest RUST patch unfortunately, still waiting on fixes for that.

I'm so in the middle of a decision right now ..

Rust sounds awesome and people on youtube say the trailers don't do it Justice. So do I buy Minecraft or Rust ? And this server ? Is it nicely populated ? I hope this is the right place to ask these questions.

If you have watched some youtube video's and loved what you have seen, then YES by all means get RUST :)

And nothing to worry about regarding population RUST community in South Africa is getting larger by the day on my server we peak about 70 players each day.

Just look for Gamers Haven in the modded tab under the server browser.

hey that's cool, 70 is pretty decent. I have seen youtube videos of RUST but like I said, the game itself and minecraft are presenting equal interest to me and I can't go for both so I really need one. As RUST players as yet would you say it's worth it ? I'm a pretty general avid gamer so based on that would you say it's better than minecraft ? Do you enjoy it ? Take into consideration the community which you said was flourishing and the capabilities of what you can do in game and so on ?

I love RUST and it's only 10% finished do note that the game is still in Alpha so many of the things ingame will still be changed and alot more content still waiting to be added.

You can look here how they work on things or what will be availeble next: https://trello.com/b/lG8jtz6v/rust-main

I can't really say anything about minecraft played it once and got bored, so was not my type of game, and you will struggle to find South African minecraft servers as well, but some people have requested that i host a minecraft server as well so we are looking into that, but from my opinion i would choose rust over minecraft, but many people may say otherwise so it's really what you like best.

They are two completely different games, Minecraft is a building game with slight dungeon crawl mixed in, Rust is a survival FPS game, which happens to have limited crafting.

Both games are awesome and you will want to have them both eventually.

Your nick is Gary M... Rust is developed by the guy who created Gary's Mod.
I say get Rust, it's fate.

But seriously though, Like Shirou I also played minecraft for a little but it got boring... Rust is completely awesome.

I'm working on something but it will only start next week - tomorrow is valentines and hence this weekend we must all spend some time with the ladies.

I'll post some info soon, I've managed to meet up with a lot of guys like you recently and will be hooking everyone up (via steam/this thread/etc) with coordinates and a map of our location, our rules (no stealing or you get banished, etc) and a plan (build a town perimeter, etc)

Buy it through steam, as easy as that, it's +- 500MB download and you have tons of playtime of fun lying ahead :)

Don't forget to join the Gamers Haven server!
