Did you go into ORMS? Pay them a visit and don't leave the store until they have called the Nikon service repair center. It will have to be in the week and during business hours unfortunately.

Post a complaint to Hello Peter or the Argus and CC the manager.

Just a note - spoke to my girlfriend, they did give me a little note with a repair number on - my bad, shows how long its been.

I'm actually glad I have this, I thought I didn't have any proof I gave them the camera.

Thats the problem, I'm in Century City, and they're in town,quite a schlep - but if they don't call me back today, as promised, I'm going to go into the store tomorrow - they have seriously lost me as a customer, I'd rather pay a bit more and get decent services, besides, I discovered SACamera is in walking distance of my office.

EDIT:

Manager phoned me back, they have replaced the camera - I can go pick up the new one - truly unpleasant experience.

Picked up the camera - new box and everything - except now they want the old box, etc back....

It might be longer than that - I'm not specifically going into town to take it back, I'll take it back the next time I'm in town, if its urgent, they should have told me yesterday to bring the box back - else they can collect it.

Sure, you may save a bit by importing yourself. however,
I bought a Pentax K20d through them. The Camera plus two lenses was cheaper than the only the camera body here in South Africa!!(and that was shopping around). As fate has it, 7 months later the camera packs up. Took it to the agents and they refused to repair it under guarantee and wanted to charge over R2 200.00. (Even after Pentax USA gave them the go ahead)
Wantitall sent the camera back to USA and arranged its repair under warrantee and couriered the camera back again for a minimal fee. They have also organised an international warranty card. (Although we are still waiting for this).

Without their assistance, the repair would have been a nightmare.
No I am looking at getting the K7 through them.
 
went thru most of the sites mentioned. The lens im saving for (Canon 70-200mm F4 L) seems to be cheapest @ Orms.

@ orms PRICE R 6,995.00
looked around online and also couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else
