I'm also comparing to TouchWiz, and find both have their downfalls, neither more consistent than the other.

That's one of the main reasons I like iPhone, for its camera, Camera app, and picture quality and consistency. The autofocus and tap to focus is unmatched. This isn't about progress in technology, which I already understand. It's about it being half the resolution of yours.

And Samsung are incredible at video recording, unmatched. Even GSMArena agree.

It sounds like you're predicting a natural disaster of sorts, and you just took the comparison too far, I'm afraid. Perhaps it appeals to a fraction of bundu-bashing smartphone users.

A natural disaster? This is reality dude, the are many 'dead spots' and EDGE only areas in SA, part of the reason why we have customers making banners due to frustration with networks.

I'm not really with you, why wouldn't an iPhone adjust and keep going?

Because iOS doesn't deal well with anything below HSDPA, not that the phone stops working, just that it stops loading pages, and is a pain to use.

HTC's Sense is brilliant though for something fancy, and Sony does the trimmed down close to Android default thing pretty well.

Saying that Android is only Touch wizz is just wrong.

Not saying that, but they make up a huge majority of Android users and opinions.

I'm sure you know my views on Vanilla. Agreed on HTC and Sony, definitely the ones to go for for their flavours and build quality/materials, and Nexus.

Dunno, I'm the S5 and it's pretty lean

Samsung listened about the growing quantity of bloat and have reduced it significantly.

That's the main reason i went iphone this round, samsung's slowly optimising the UI but still needs loads of work imo, especially compared to say Htc

That depends on the carrier. Where I stay I Send and receive whatsapp messages without much delay on Telkom mobile EDGE. It's quite a mission with MTN (EDGE), sometimes even 3G. Loading media-rich sites on Safari takes a while though

One thing that iOS Fans seem to runaway from these days is battery life, the 6 Plus failed to match the Note 4's incredible batt life, each reviewer reflects this.

The Galaxy Note 4, Motorola Droid Turbo (Moto Maxx Intl.), Xperia Z3, LG G3, LG G2, Galaxy Note 3, HTC One M8 etc... Despite huge displays, with power hungry Android, multitasking, multi-core CPUs etc.... still manage better than the new 6, 6 Plus and previous iPhone 5.

Battery life on my Note 4 is gunning for iPad territory, it isn't there, but close, certainly much closer than iPhone 6 Plus , my Note 4 averaging around 7hours On Screen, with 12-15hours off charge, and I usually plug-in at around 25%, so Ultra Power Saving has never had to kick-in, but one day when I have the time I'll get it to fully drain.

IPhone not working on less than HSDPA is absolute crap!

Honestly, the better OS between the two is 100% personal preference. IOS is not as resource hungry as certain android (skinned, eg Touchwiz) versions... Comparing my 5S to the Note 3 I had, it's just as smooth.

Apple is a more simple UI. The camera isn't great on the iPhone. The OS runs perfectly on the hardware used.

Android has lots of customisable options and that's where there is more flexibility over iOS.

It honestly comes down to what OS you are happy to use

The iPhone 5s pic is much better. The Note 3 pic is out of focus, the colours are worse, and it cannot handle the bright light leading to chromatic aberration.

This is without even taking into consideration the quality of the iOS Camera app, the auto/tap to focus speed, and overall consistency.

Just the other weekend I was shooting against a Note 3. Decent camera but it's no iPhone camera.

The colour reproduction looks much more realistic on Note 3 compared to reality... I'm not saying the iPhone is bad, I just feel the Note 3 was better . Mostly due to sharpness and extra detail captured

That's due to the AMOLED screen, not what the camera captures. I've tested your pics on 2x IPS screens - rMBP 13" 2560x1600 and Dell Ultrasharp U2410 1920x1200, using Adobe RGB modes too, and it reinforces what I said.
