Typical ANC behaviour acting like the DA were school children. Plus the ANC forgetting they are no longer the majority and the point of a coalition partner is to actually question and keep you inline, not to just bow to you and go yes sir no sir.
The fact that the ANC didn't actually give the DA more ministerial positions indicate they still cannot grasp their fate.

Emfuleni is totally dysfunctional due to decades of ANC mismanagement. So are over 75% of municipalities with decades of ANC majority. Heck in my area nearly every government vacancy goes through councillors including nurses. You either buy or sleep with someone in most cases to be employed. The clinical head of the hospital prances about in ANC regalia but at least he's a doctor.

Agreed. Joburg and Tshwane was never really out of ANC control. The gatekeepers sowing the havoc have always been ANC-held positions. The ANC cadres appointed ANC cadres. The new administration wasn't allowed to fire anyone and appoint their own. For that very reason, Joburg and Tshwane will not have the ability to become functional again, no matter which party other than the ANC comes into power. They are doomed (save for some champy tweets on the ribbon-cutting ceremony for another longdrop, or two murderers getting arrested)

All valid points but it can be fixed only if ANC doesn't govern directly. They can support whoever is in charge (e.g. Dr. Moya in Tshwane) but they can't govern in provinces/big cities, especially ones that have issues.

Home affairs was completely comatose under Motsoaledi and Leon revived it in such a short time. All under GNU and obviously supported by ANC but not governed by ANC directly.

Of course, running Jhb is on a different scale but if ANC's role is somehow restricted to supporting a multi-party coalition having non-ANC candidate to drive the process, everyone will benefit.

Punished for what? That is their job, the ANC is not the big kahuana any more. In fact the ANC should be punished for once again screwing over everyone. Not sure why you're so happy the ANC got their way, they just going to ransack more.

See this is the problem, the ANC doesn't see itself as being in a partnership, it thinks it still can dictate everything. But somehow it's the DA betrayal, when the ANC is the one who gathered all the smaller parties to help them.
Sigh once again, smaller parties just screw everyone over. People should've looked at Tshwane and JHB for how smaller parties will always side with the ANC.

Punished for not voting with the GNU of course, you can justify it Ll you want but the fact is they want to be part of GNU while doing their own thing, that can never be tolerated and not even Cyril can justify not doing anything about it.

Right? So as usual it's the ANC way or it's no way... The ANC should be punished for doing what they have been doing, stealing more from the people without any actual concern anymore.

The ANC voted with the GNU alongside all the GNU partners except the DA.

Nope they didn't, considering the largest party within that GNU didn't vote with them. The ANC had to gather outside smaller parties and promise them things to get the numbers.
