Court or not, let's assume that the vote on the framework was above board. They haven't voted on the division of revenue yet, which is where the department budgets are allocated.

Only after this will the point be valid that the DA is implementing a budget that they voted against. They haven't voted on this yet...

MK + EFF is 23%. If the DA abstains then they still need another 27%, which is 69% of the ANC seats. 69% of the ANC isn't getting behind a MONC in Ramaphosa, especially before their elective conference...

Which is what I suggested they should have done in the budget vote, you are questioning the process, abstain, then go to court.

The vote would pass or fail without them having a hand in it.

Problem is, there's no point in saying we'll oppose the VAT increase, and then you abstain.

I reckon the DA would get shat on 20x more than ASA, BOSA and RISE is rn for voting for it...

How do you move on from this? the trust is broken. The point of view from Mashatile and the others is very simple, kick them out and having all your opponents on one side and you allies on your side, instead of having what looks like an ally in your camp which might later turn out to be an enemy.

And why couldn't they find it each other hmmm? Couldn't be cos your GLM was negotiating in bad faith could it?

Why abstain? They had a vote and they used it as they should.

They said the sitting is illegal, how would abstaining from an illegal sitting and then going to court to challenge it imply they are not opposed to a vat increase?

We both know that a) they'd be seen as chickening out/selling out and b) desperately trying to find a way out (similar to ASA, BOSA and RISE now) via the court case.

neo-ANC, ANC-ing. He's just one leap away from also demanding that people vote in party-labelled drums for elections...
