Yeah, a bit unexpected but the DA held the ward I expected them to lose and lost the one I expected them to win.

I think we should also focus on this little gem though...your party is collapsing at a very high rate of knots.

I'm more concerned with the surge of MK given how disruptive they are to the political landscape, in ways that Juju and his EFF band could only ever dream of being.

I fully expected them to collapse shortly after elections. It appears they’re growing quicker than EFF did. But I suspect, like the EFFs support — their support will soon plateau to circa 9%.

I think we have a spike to get through first before they plateau down to 9%, the question is whether that spike is big enough to get them into any sort of position of real power or not.

Deliberately vote against the interests of their "our people". So, yes. But yeah, MK are just incompetent and the US congress men malicious. But that's 6 of one etc.
That's not quite the same.

I do like the double standards, when I told you the DA has collapsed from 62% to 47% in a recent by election you told me the most important thing is that they have held and won the ward, despite fierce competition, the ANC has done the same thing here, why is this one different?

We have four by-elections today. In Emfuleni, the ANC should coast to victory. In the Northern Cape, this the third by-election in this ward since the 2021 elections - the results show the latest by-election results. I put a * next to the DA result as due to the corrupt tactics of the PA, the DA representative was effectively bribed to drop out of the race so effectively there was no DA campaign. I'm just curious if @TheChamp will be so excited for a PA win as he usually given that in this ward, the PA's direct competitor is the ANC. It will create all kinds of confusion in his brain.

Anyone but the DA ngwaneso.

They did well to hold onto to that one, while again the PA slaps them silly and take another ward from them, this is becoming a trend now. Again growing from 1% to 43%, the enemy is too fierce and the DA finds itself very vulnerable.

It's a pity, but not completely unsurprising as it seems in rural WC, Coloured people are falling for the "onse mense" meme...

But the same will happen as in Beaufort/Knysna; they flock to PA, they see PA dick around, they go back to DA.

Because the ANC should never be 3rd in a 100% black township VD, lol. If you can't see what that means for the ANC vote share if it is replicated elsewhere, I cannot help you.

You realise both ANC and DA went up in that ward... At the expense of PA...
He just ignores anything that goes against the narrative. What is more intriguing here is this one of the few wards that the PA has to defend in the country, and they lost it. Very easy to be an insurgent party promising change but then you actually have to deliver, and that is where the PA spectacularly fails. I also have 100% confidence the DA will regain the Drakenstein ward in the municipal elections.
