First thing I did when I started working, I recall I was so annoyed that they unilaterally decided they wanted R700, which I thought was a lot of money, but before I knew it the debt was gone, I just don't recall them sending me acknowledgement though, the dedictions just stopped.

Land is not an investment . ATM there is only 1 to 3% return pa. A normal savings account gives more. I happily sold my house to one of your tribe and took the money outside SA for investment

Good on you. You are literally the first person I've heard stating they repaid even with exact figures of how much they took monthly.

I'm a huge supporter of Higher Education being free in South Africa like in other nations. The billions if not trillions of profits corporate rakes up from South Africa can indirectly pay for tuition together with the government. Government + private sector can make higher education free, they just choose not to because there is a lot, like a lot of money to be milked from people.

+-R10k in registration alone is a testament that it's a barrier for entry. Seen too many people lose hope in their dreams while only still teenagers due not being able to afford higher education.

NSFAS changed from loans to bursaries ~ 2018 . They hadthe problem most recipients never paid it back

Higher education in SA's case is not a right under current law. Only basic education is.
Make the economy more conductive to doing business and jobs will appear. More people will be employed. Country will have more income and then your dream of free education for all can be realised
