The DA will never reach the 2016 numbers with Zille still there, she is the one holding the party back but you worshippers are too much in denial.

Talking about that, the DA was very competitive in Soweto during the Maimane era, that project was abandoned when Zille came back, yet you guys are under some delusion that Zille is going to win the DA enough votes to be Mayor of Joburg.

Lol, the fact that they're so desperate to even give a **** about minorities is lovely.

The only reason they're even considering this is because their "black" vote share is imploding by the second.

So they're hoping they can win over a former white or coloured struggle backer here and there to votela ANC again, like it's 1999.

It's oxymoronic.

You can't acknowledge/understand someone's alienation and then dismiss it a few words later.

And this has been the general feeling among Coloured people since the mid-2000s, the moment the 'struggle' was over, they were shunted aside.

Like the Apartheid government that tried to win them over to use as a buffer against the ANC and then cast them aside... So too did the ANC cast aside the Indians and Coloureds gradually as they got their way...

LOL, have you considered that how Mmusi and his leadership went out of their way to alienate the Afrikaner voting base using ANC race politics "affected the trajectory"?

Have you considered how Mmusi and co handled the De Lille case, alienating a section of DA Coloured support? How Mmusi and co couldn't bring a solid response to Ramaphoria?

And after all that, the needle didn't even move on black support in 2019 compared to 2014?

But no, poor poor Mmusi was chased away because of Gogo and not his disastrous leadership that left the party divided and back to where it was in 2014...

My guy, don't worry about DA's numbers.

Rather worry about the ANC probably not staying above 35% next year and beyond...

The ANC project has all but been abandoned. Right now it's about stealing as much as they can before they are reduced to 30%'ers in 2026, and 20% in 2029. In the meantime let them focus their outrage on who the DA's candidates are, the DA's strategy, what the FedEx is doing, etc. It's free publicity.

Notice how no one is talking about any other candidates?

No amount of publicity is going to help Zille become Mayor of Joburg, she is an unlikeable person and her being the candidate is not going to help the DA.

So in a world where it isn't a feeding trough and state mouthpiece I 100% agree thst it's a bad thing, but as a feeding trough that drains the fiscus of useful funds for minimal benefit a case can easily be made for shutting it down.
