SA Politics Thread Part 11: The GNU Normal

It explains why ANC are raging as hard as they are over DA withdrawing. Without DA, whether they or others like it, the Dialogue has no legitimacy. I doubt EFF and MK would participate... The unions are against it. And it isn't exactly legitimate if only they attend alongside an aligned foundation or two and their small GNU partners...

This is ANC's final gamble to not crash into oblivion at the polls next year. And that's why they're trying so hard. Also, another note about the rage towards DA... Cornered animals and all that...

If its their final gamble, Mkhwanazi has completely torpedo'd it now over and above the DA withdrawing.

Ah I can't wait for Cupcake to say how "shocked" and "surprised" he is over all this Mkhwanazi business
He won't, doing that would basically confirm the allegations and implicate two ministers that he appointed. Which by extension implicates him.

He'll go on about not raising it through the correct channels. He already said some crap about not making accusations and counter-accusations publicly. What's telling is in what's not being said, i.e. there's no denial...

There are a number of things.

1. Foreign Policy and SA's love for China/Iran/Terrorism groups and then the Minority persecution driven by laws and policy
I'd argue it's largely a push against China. It's the only country threatening the US dominance.
2. Trade Defecit which SA obv likes , but the usa doesnt
Equatorial Guinea (I'd mention Russia in the same breath) and countries the US has free-reign in have immunity.
2. MAGA and his election promises
Like it or not from a USA pov the tarriff thing is exactly what he promised in his election manifesto.
It is coming back to MAGA. He wants manufacturing to move back to USA. With 30% it does not make sense to manufacture cars amoungst other in SA. It make mroe sense to shut down here and expand / open factories in USA.
This may well be the case: to squeeze manufacturing out of here to the US, other than China. But what can we import from the US that isn't Cheaper in China?
Unemployment is allready down in USA. proving what he is doing is right from his pov.

South Africa doesn't have a god given right to participate in the US economy.
I did not make that claim. In the same breath, they don't have the right to dictate ZA foreign policy either so they must spare us the veiled threats.

*Disclaimer: this is not endorsement for the equaly vile China or Russia.

US hasn't dictated anything to South Africa. There is no chance of a sky taco dropping a moab over the Union Buildings.

Nothing about the threats have been veiled, they have been explicit. If you are a customer, you generally want to make sure the company you are dealing with is kosher . If not, you take your business elsewhere. This is what the US is doing, they are just giving us the opportunity to correct ourselves. We of course know the looter extraordinaire ANC members wont take that chance, better to condemn the poor to more poverty after all.

Zim didn't do it right, the ANC will. Much like Communism, its never been done right before but we'll do it right.

My spidey senses tell me that South Africa is another experimental test case for attempting to get Socialism to finally work. Who is behind it? Propably the same WEF bunch that were abusing USAID for other regime and social tweaking experiments worldwide.

I don't spend any more time on this other than it just being a musing thought. One of you can PM me in 20 years and tell me if I was on the money or just being conspiratorial.

Assuming humanity hasn't blown itself sky high by then.

They have a right to chose who they do business with and under what conditions. If SA doesnt like it they dont have to trade

Threatening severe tariffs on ZA goods if we don't align with US foreign policy is equivalent to dropping a MOAB on us.

Along with SA's support for terrorist supporting countries and organisations.

Type of product being imported to SA from USA is different to China.

Our other friends with sketchy human rights records.

If you're using that as a basis for making friends may as well say no to every country in the world

Unless you're one of those loony leftist retards who thinks there are good countries and bad countries?
