So you’re saying the ANC can’t grow its membership to meaningful numbers if they’ve always hovered around that number?

Membership is generally a chore, it's not the same thing as being a supporter or a fan, so many people are just not bothered enough. You have to attend meetings, take part in party activities, actively campaign for the party, so it's not about the membership fee, it could be free but the members will always be less than the supporters.

Try drawing pictures. 30 percenters MIGHT (big MIGHT) have half a clue of you draw them a nice basic little picture...
