You mean besides the fact that he leads the police in the only province the DA has majority in? 🤣

Drugs, gang activity and death, children's deaths at that are the order of the day in the Western Cape.

You'll never hear of criminals having more power and sway than Mkhwanazi in KZN because the man knows what he's doing. šŸ™‚
Everything you have listed there falls squarely at the door of the National government. You hero uBaba is the one that destroyed SAPS.

The ANC deploys cadres, they have admitted it openly. "Their man" has ONE job. That is to destabilise the Western Cape. But somehow the DA must be responsible for this? You really are short of any thinking ability.

And a rapid descent to the bottom is also nobodies interest since I doubt any of us are prepared for the shyteshow that that bottom would represent.
yes that is another one of the common excuses to keep the downward spiral going

33 years and counting is not a rapid descent by any stretch of the imagination though

This is only true if the EFF and/or MK refuse to join the ANC in the GNU...

The notion that everything collapses without the DA in government is utter nonsense. šŸ˜‚
who said "everything collapses without the DA"?

I merely said the ANC won't retain control if the GNU collapses, which is true until proven otherwise

even IF MK and EFF join GNU, do you think they won't have major demands to make from the ANC knowing how desperate the ANC is? JuJu might want to sit on the throne himself, who knows, there's no honour among thieves

It is if you look how long the Romans took to collapse.

Do you have something to prove that ActionSA decline is due to middle class loss of support or is your theory the basic ActionSA BAD theory?
A lot of middle class voters voted for him in 2021, thinking it was an alternative to the DA.

Then went the populist route and joined RET in playing the race card, and being openly misleading and racist. Who tf wants to vote a guy who hates you. Even the wife donor struggled at times to defend Herman's positions.

I think ASA ActionSA have alienated their white support base. But they might gain some black votes who this message resonates with.

But the most important reason why they will take a beating, is they still haven't had their elective conference. This doesn't instill confidence in voters, and party members, that the party has enough integrity to elect the best people for the positions.

As long as Herman is running a personality cult that's centred around him, he will never be trusted. It's not far away from being another MK, because he can't let go of his ego to allow others to lead. And probably not even far away from an open revolt as people feel hard done by when Herman points his finger at who must go where, which doesn't help their personal growth either...

the Romans didn't have internet, cancel culture, globalization, AI etc

things happen much faster these days, including collapses

hell the "apartheid government" ruled the republic of south africa for 33 years and it collapsed, the ANC has ruled the republic for 31 years already ...

And their little VAT debacle just sealed the deal for a lot of people...

Well to be honest the ANC's collapse has been even more meteoric. There were a number of years of growth before the collapse began.

MK will never join as long as Cyril is there. And uBaba and Mashatile have bad blood between them...

Mashatile is the one who dragged the Nkandla Thief kicking and screaming out of Mahlamba Ndlopfu when Cyril and others were busy entertaining his stories of finishing his term, I have no idea where the buddy buddy relationship the media and X is talking about coming from.

Hardly an excuse, its generally meant to be a reality check.

If you think going to the bottom is something we should want so that we can start climbing out of it, you are clearly misguided about how brutal the bottom really will be for everyone in this country... both economically and physically.

Conservative estimate, if we hit rock bottom, this country will take 30 - 40 years before anything starts improving.

the reality check is in the rearview mirror ...

rock bottom is coming regardless, I merely favour ripping the band aid off over the slow painful pull that stings with every little hair it rips out

I honestly don't see it turning around from those levels. You'll have factions fighting constantly to get their hands on the little that will still be there. It would take long-term vision, planning and sacrifices to grow. Those are not traits to be found in any of our politicians or anywhere in Africa for that matter.

Each to their own.

I don't need a rapid decline to Somalia thank you very much.

I would agree.. thats why I say conservatively.

I would think realistically, if we go to rock bottom, SA as a country ceases to exist forever... and anything people take for granted today will be gone forever.

There will be some very happy bunnies on this forum when all traces of apartheid have been erased from South African soil. All roads, airport and buildings built by the new masters, the Chinese.
