SA Post Office Strike

Still waiting for something sent from Germany about a month and a bit ago.

Here is an extract from my orders over the last 6 months, all from eBay using free or cheap shipping:

Got all stuff. Lost only one item. USB3 extension cable from China costing $3.

7 items missing. Sent from all over the world to SA.

Everything sent from China to the shipper in the USA arrived. The problem is NOT with the Chinese Post Office.

Thing is when were they sent? If it was back in December then it isn't surprising. If they were sent recently then I'd have to rethink ordering from Ebay.

I got everything as said but this was old stuff, also mostly US. EMS from Japan is also on time. USA, I dunno. But since EMS is working OK, I think it's probably safe to order.

Oh yeah SAPO are scanning US 1st Class Mail tracking numbers into the system. These are not tracking numbers and start with LC I think and appear on the green customs label. So you may be able to trace your parcel in the SAPO system with that.

Usually Priority Mail stuff tracking was scanned in. Now they're doing 1st Class too.

Some of them were up to February this year.

After that I have not used SAPO, I have been sending stuff to a shipper in the USA. But it works out too expensive.

Must be a very recent thing then.
All four of my USPS First Class parcels arrived recently (ordered in early May). Not a single one was scanned in as far as that "LC" tracking was concerned.

I have a package sent from HK via Singapore post, it left there on the 19th of this month and was scanned at JIMC yesterday morning.

Guess there is still some life left in SAPO. Now for the BIG wait...

That's all down to Singapore post. I usually get my stuff a month after it arrives here.

IMO they have a mountain of old stuff that they are gradually working through.

Every now and then I receive an old parcel, ie shipped six months or longer ago.

So I have not received my parcel yet.
Can we trust these MFs ? I need to order something from Ebay and a courier is going to make the item way over my budget.
