SA Post Office Strike

Hi Nefertiti

It first goes through Sortation at JIMC... then once it's sorted as to where it must go (the region). It then gets sorted at a different place to go to the specific region (Meaning it goes to another sorter to decide where in that region it's suppose to go. CPT, DUR , BLOEM, George , PE or wherever)

Looks like things are moving along very slooowly. Some users here mentioned they have seen movement and some have even received some of their international parcels. Where'as there are also plenty of us still awaiting parcels from back in July/August/Sept/October. <-- We playing the waiting game ..with an added prayer game on the side (wishing that our stuff is safe)

It already moved away from customs (was at customs during the strike) and on its way somewhere. Was at JIMC, they couldnt find the parcel so either it is on its way or stolen. I just wish their website gave an indication where it is. But they not good at updating the statuses. I had parcels came in with no indicator/status change on their parcel track system at all. Delivery is in Johannesburg area, so thats why we suspect its on its way to Witspos and then on to my local branch.

I just wish SAPO would please put some priority on International Parcels going out in SA... I see there are plenty of people sorting normal mail/letters etc. But the JIMC/International parcels is lacking behind alot. As there are some users that hasn't received stuff from back in July/August... and also Sept and October.

My EMS stuff is moving. I ordered a month back but the items sent by Royalmail and China air post has not been sorted as yet and I ordered those items in August/September.

I just hope they sort out the backlog before the December holidays.

ye, by mid december... most people are on leave, Including SAPO. Good luck with that one.

That will be more delays. Which is very sad for me.

They handled the parcel... being a heavy long handling session. Must be a very costly process :-)

So I thought I would take a gamble and email Sapo to find out if the East London Depo is operational, and frankly I wished I didn't, After emailing them they now claim that my parcel is somewhere in the Tswane depo, and cant give me any explanation as to why there tracking isn't updating :/ , so in a nutshell my parcel is somewhere, and I have no way to track it.

That is hectic... Tshwane is a good 1000km from your location.

The parcel was propably coming from Overseas, going to JIMC/JHB. Then it got forwarded to Tshwane and got stuck there with the whole strike in action process. ?

or possibly they redirected parcels to other area's closeby and got bogged down.

Gents it looks like there is some movement on my parcel... finally (sent from USA on the 8th of October..)

Tracking number Origin Destination Status

So happy, finally that server of mine will be functional soon.

Local PO received 37 parcels for the first time in 3 months. My 4 parcels were not included :(

Hi JesseG... ohh Multi-choice..

Nah you should be good with that magazine for another 3months :)

I've gotten all my packages, which was a total surprise. Half my crocus seeds started germinating. I am baffled how customs didnt destroy a package with roots growing out of it :D

LOL, I can't remember the last time I watched DSTV....on a more serious note, would couriering a package from the US during the December period be affected by delays?

I'm guessing if you sent it via courier (maybe DHL or FEDEX) That should be about 5-7 to get here and another day or two to clear their customs. (As long as it doesn't touch EMS or a Post Office sortation system.. it should be quick)

Parts of US have a massive snow storm, so you might be out of luck. This obviously depends where it is being sent from.
