SA Post Office Strike

Capemail has processing problems. They're going to pull Weekend shifts. Yesterday apparently staff were removed from the building. Big backlog is getting bigger.

oh nice, so ontop of the backlog that THEY caused, they still going to get overtime......how many of them demanded or had an excuse to come in on the Sunday, interesting....

Once again paid R70 extra for 2 separate parcels this week to not use SAPO, most worthwhile R140 spent this week.

tbh i have bought two items this week and can't say i missed the R35 extra for delivery on each item - considering the FAST delivery and excellent service. What a pleasure!

I can't say I have EVER had a good experience at any Post Office. Even something as simple as renewing a license is something they manage to F-up for us. I now do that online and is a real breeze (yes it does cost a few bob extra but is worth it due to less frustration, long queues, and smelly POST Office departments)
That brings me to another point lol, I don't think i have ever seen a clean Post Office branch, anywhere.

I don't understand why this country cannot adopt the strike policy other countries have in place. You strike, you out, end of story.
There are jobs for people who WANT them and NEED them, as opposed to these k$%nts thave been given the jobs. It makes a huge difference i tell you.

still havent got my parcel from August, been to JIMC 4 times now. Last time they had 2 people looking for 3 hours, it is a complete mess there still

Never going to make up the money they lost from the strike no matter how much overtime they get. That's the mentality we're dealing with here.

There's our problem. Just imagine how many parcels those 2 people could have processed in that time. Now I know who to blame for my parcel being 2 weeks overdue already.

It is sickening how much money these people cost the country due to the strike action, secondly the overtime for working longer shifts will further damage an already battling system, and lastly this is not guaranteed to resolve ANY backlog and I cannot begin to imagine the theft that has gone on since this whole thing started. I don't believe for a second that people's packages did not arrive in the country, I believe it came in and some long fingers got hold of it out of spite during the unhappy strike action.

I finally got my september parcel today, I should be happy </sarc>

Incoming strikes coming again from CWU...
Just when I thought I could order stuff again through the post (avoiding Joburg)

They are striking the inhumane conditions they have to work under. In the morning they have to get out of bed. It's not fun, I tell u.
They have to spend 8 grueling hours plus 1 hour lunch break and perhaps as many as two tea breaks and a toilet break whenever they wish of unlimited quantity at their work which is probably a large warehouse where they have to sort parcels and letters and see the expensive things which go past and feel sad about the fact that this is not their stuff. Poor workers.
