SA Post Office Strike

We live in a country where the majority of voters are not interested in holding their elected candidates responsible.
That means the country can go to the dogs and nothing will happen.
Welcome to South Africa.
That's all that needs to be said, because that is the status quo right now and for the foreseeable future.

So I got a collection receipt in the mail for September 2014, went to PO just for ****s and giggles.
Low and behold my one parcel was there.

Hell with this speed and trend we will be forever a year behind on all post.
That is to say that no MAJOR strike will occur this year....... LOL who are we kidding.

:(

I don't understand why they don't fire the lot.
That's the problem with this bloody country, we actually allow them to strike.

Heard on Radio 702 this morning that they were threatening to go on strike again soon. I kid you not....

well, i see any reputable company these days is strictly shipping any goods via courier only ie: Kalahari.com has a banner displaying this....
so come to think of it, if enough companies stop using the Post Office there will be no need for it at all and they will crumble to the ground...haha jokes on you Post Office!!

The only k@k thing about that is the ramifications....the @rseholes now unemployed will have an excuse to turn to crime like any other lazy @rse too lazy to find a job because stealing is easier.

I managed to trace one of my parcels. It was signed for by SAPO on the 15th of December. Probably still stuck at the international hub.

Received a parcel from the US shipped November of last year :)

I have noticed that more and more eBay sellerss exclude SA from their shipping destination list.

Can't blame them.

Problem is that at least some reputable foreign companies don't ship by courier but rely only on EMS, and they will not ship to intermediate addresses either. It's your CC's registered address or the highway for them.

Yup, we may get exceptions such as Italy and Brazil. Apparently these two are also difficult to ship to.

Not only is our post office slow, our customs are very slow and aggressive too.

The problem is buying from the US when lots of the sellers use USPS as it's not an issue for them.
It is however a huge issue for us the moment it get's anywhere near our chicken laden shores.

So two weeks for a parcel isn't that long sigh. Oh well will wait.
