SA Post Office Strike


Because some companies ONLY use postal services. This is especially so for Japanese companies where they do not make individual provisions so customers have to conform, especially as the company is the sole producer of certain products. So you have to use them.

Also postal can be much, much cheaper. And it works elsewhere in the world. And it can be as fast as courier, at least for EMS.
 
Can someone please send me an an recent email address to send my customs invoice to?
My parcel is sitting in customs who dont answer the phones.

Can't the customer send DHL there to take the item for delivery?

No. They don't allow that. They do things the way they want to do them and if the customer does not like it, the customer can fly a kite.
Of course they will not say that but they put it politely and state they never make exceptions.

Thanks. Sent Jan/Feb. Airmail. It used to take 3 weeks as it's an airmail consolidator. (Ascendia). Other parcel is SAL I think, sent about a month ago.
 
SO I don't think this has been answered yet, is there still a backlog at JIMC?
 
Anybody knows how long they need to send normal letters out these days? As it was not valuable, urgent or overly important I used normal airmail for some letters to the US to AU and to the UK. 8 weeks ago. Not a single one arrived by now. That's somewhat disturbing not one letter to any country. Sent from JHB the Bermuda triangle for everything mailed.And not all stuffed into the same mailbox at the same time.

It is not bad, it is worse.

Yip six months later after completing a claim form for my parcel that was repossessed in the sorting station.

Called the PO only to be told that they have no idea how long it will take as there is a huge backlog of claims of stolen goods but hopefully nothing less than a year to complete.

The frustrating point I have with the PO is there is no chain of command you can follow to find out more details.
You can either phone/email the call center to re-direct you to the PO, the PO cant tell you anything before they hear anything from the investigation team.

So your option as a civilian is either call center or PO and none of them can help you.

So now I have to wait patiently for some one to actually come back and do their job.

How difficult is this , the parcel was stolen either at customs or sorting cant be anywhere else.
I have completed a claim form, so pay me out and when you have time investigate.

But now I have to wait for you to eventually complete your job.

I just still think it is so sad that your own employees steal you blind and cost you so much damage in theft, yet they demand 10+% increase.

Its a joke, but I guess welcome in SA.

And what is your chances of been paid out? The post office is broke.
 
Want to send a postcard to teh parentals...have they sorted this crap out now or do I need to fedex the postcard?

I means its been 9 months...
