SA Post Office Strike

This ... In fact after exactly 5min of waiting on their automated call answering service, the line gets cut. I have had a parcel stuck there since Sept 19... movement again on Oct 21 to customs. Extremely frustrating.
Same thing happened to me now again. 5min and BAM... Dropped call. My dad's in Pta so I've asked him to give them a visit. Hopefully his stubborn Namibian personality will be able to get something out of them.

So, they have a lot of issues at the moment. There is a huge backlog as they haven't payed there suppliers for a while and the supliers stop giving them there metarial the used to package, record and transport the mail. Also recently they stopped all overtime due to cash flow constraints. I am aware however that thehave recieved all there supplies as well as reinstated all overtime so that the backlog can be cleared. This however only started on Monday.

If you PM me your international tracking number I might be able to tell you where in the progress your packages are
I see a flood of pm comming in :)

Seems to sit in Customs for 6 weeks nowadays, and not traceable during that time.

Registered international tracking no on parcelcheck.org a while back
Receaved a notification this morning. Parcel @ international mail centre

Someone please share your tracking details from showing up till arive at destination. Preferably recent .
Trying to see time frames.

Got a shipment sent from the UK to here. They used a courier service for the main units and then sent the power supplies with Royal Mail.

It is in SA but don't know wth has happened to them. Got some from a local supplier instead .

I have a shipment that are in SA, somewhere. EMS don't know where it is, and they have not unpacked everything, apparently. Two weeks later, and no movement on it. Contacting their "customer service" is useless. The general message is to "wait".

Well, that's AffirmativeAction 2016 at work. Some people are counting the waiting time in months and not weeks....Enjoy the ride....

Was at the post office yesterday and they told a few clients that this coming weekend Cape Mail will be closed to the public as it tries to work through the massive backlog.

I ordered something from Durban, it's now sitting at Capemail. Does Durban not have a direct line to Gauteng?
