SADV Installation Feedback/Progress for Estates/Complexes

How long does it take for SADV to install Fibre ONT after Go Live Date? Placed order with Home Connect no communication from SADV.

Hi Pinball Wizzard,

I need some help please. About 4 years ago I saw guys digging trenches and putting some cables into the ground.
I then found out from one of the managers on site that it is fibre they putting in. This year my 4G Data contract ends with Telkom. Yesterday I went to the manhole cover to see what info is on the cover and its printed "DFA" on the cover. I've contacted everybody, SADV, home connect and Cool ideas but nobody can help me. DFA is completely offline, Web side is down and land lines are not working at all.

Please see if you can help me with this.

I'm in the Cosmo City, Roodtepoort area.

Many thanks

DFA = Dark fiber africa, they don't supply directly to consumers (AFAIK), most last mile providers use them for backhaul. I doubt home connect would actually let you connect at the prices they state, seems wrong.
Best bet is to use e.g. Afrihost's fiber checker to see if you are able to order from any provider: https://www.afrihost.com/fibre/
If yes, you can start shopping around based on the network that Afrihost states that is in your area.

Thank you for your feedback. I'll check with Afrihost. Hopefully they will be able to help me.

I phoned Afrihost with no success.

DFA (Dark Fibre Africa) do they exist at all? They installed cables and then just disappeared. Very strange.

Don't phone, put your address in the link I gave, are you covered? That's it.
