SAIX Lite ADSLconsumer prices emerge

Wow... ultra-shaped data for twice the price of IS. Madness! Anyone who actually stays with SAIX bandwidth really has NO excuse...

LOL shaped deprioritized data at a higher price than unshaped from Afrihost or Axxess, lol. Who exactly is the market for this abomination? And don't say light web users as either the telkom do bundles or Afrihost accounts make more sense.

Oh and it's Telkom so forget it, I already pay too much to those blood sucking leeches.

Fair enough with the comments above but can anybody actually believe SAIX has dropped pricing from their R100 + per gb pricing well over a year ago. I think they are coming to the party late but atleast we know they are trying :)

A good move IMO

Telkom have proven yet again that they have no clue what the market wants, what the competition are offiering, and that they just don't care, and even if they did care (by some miracle), they are too fat, too bloated and too slow to respond to competition effectively, and within a reasonable timeframe.

As Gary put it so eloquently:

Duck off and Fie, Telkom.

EDIT: Those ISPs that actually try to resell this crap to consumers need to be boycotted. Nay, they should be shot in the head. If you're an ISP and you're reading this, be warned.

+1. Telkom, 'fraid this is not how you introduce a new product into the market hoping to beat the competition whose prices practically average half of yours

What you guys worried about - if Telkom falls off the bus they will have the TAXPAYER to bail them out... so why would they care. Just like SAA, ESKOM, etc...

are they serious? this has to be a joke!

There is so much win in seeing how seriously misguided the Telkom fools are. Telkom will fail and the someone (hopefully with sense) will pick up the pieces.

“In essence as the name suggests, these accounts are aimed at lite users (those using the internet mainly for web browsing and email) and while downloading, online gaming and peer to peer are not prohibited, such protocols will receive the lowest priority on the network,” says Frater.

In that case just rather go with the R19/GB Axxess accounts. Plus Axxess (via IS) peer with MWEB (for now) so you'll probably get better latency too.
