Just thought I would share as I found this amazing app on the play store
Samsung Band Selection
The app lets you specify a single band or multiple bands to use for LTE, 3G and 2G services. It also shows additional mobile network settings that where not available to me such as setting my phone to prefer WIFI calling instead of cellular calling.
As I am on Telkom Mobile, I can also force my phone to Band 1 or 3 (To avoid B40 which seems to drain my battery aggressively). I have also figured out that if i force my phone to Band 8 I will always roam which may be useful for areas where the telkom signal consistently drops or when traveling to avoid excessive battery drain when connected to a further Telkom Mobile tower.
It is also interesting to test out the different Bands and CA configurations offered by your network.
