Made a big difference IMO on the brother's phone. Do it!I am thinking of flashing Lollipop on my N900.
Is there anything I should consider beforehand?
Running 4.4.2 on Cell C network.

I went looking for a Lollipop 5.1.1 ROM release (i.e. not a nightly build) and finally found something I felt comfortable with: SOKP Android 5.1.1 ROM for Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
It's working nicely. The main selling point is the battery life. I was running KitKat and was finishing the day with between 10% and 30% battery, depending on use. Now it managed to get through a whole day and to the next evening without charging!
The only thing annoying me is that it comes pre-installed with Layers 3.7 and the Google Play Store is trying unsuccessfully to update to Layers 4.1. The store notes say that you need to first uninstall when < 4.0, but there is no option to do so that I can see. It seems baked into the ROM. Any suggestions on how to fix it without waiting for a ROM update?
Uninstall using Titanium Backup.

Ok you can try somthing like this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp&hl=en

Apps hasn't been updated in a while tho. Or you can use something like Root Explorer and locate the apk manually and remove it. I'm not sure what layers is exactly... I've been using CM for a long, long time.
I think I just screwed my phone up. I was running CM12.1, I did a factory reset where I erased my sim card and cleared everything on my phone.
It looks like it is stuck in a boot loop now where TeamWin flashed the whole time.
Have you cleared the cache and dalvik cache in recovery? And now my screen is just black with the battery and reception showing... GOD
Yeah I figured it out shortly afterward. I cleared everything. Thanks.Have you cleared the cache and dalvik cache in recovery?
That may very well sort it out, if you haven't already tried that. You supposed to do that every time you load a new rom that's not a sequential stock room.
