Who wants to swop their new Note 3 for a mint conditioned GS4??? :D .....Haha,jokes!......kind of.....not really.....

ANYWAY

How are the lucky new Note 3 users finding the battery life thus far?

hi Tsepz _011 ,
Ok ,battery life in general (i have a Note 2 , Note 8.0( tablet ) both, have nearly similar specs ,hardware and now a Note 3 lte version )
i would say it reminds me of Note 2 battery life which is great, eg.On Note 2, i got in sleep mode +- 9..11 hours (overnight, phone left in one place ,fully charged 100% ) battery drain was 3 % (97% battery power left ).However when you start using it ,internet, to do apps updates ,weather ,twitter , currents ,bit of internet on Android 4.1.2 battery drain was draining reasonably faster than when i was on Android vers .4.1.1 ,where battery drain was much less.(very much so ! )
The Note 3 ( Android vers 4.3 )
,battery drain (what you asked overall) to me is quite good !
Overnigt 9..11 hours plus,in sleep mode i get also 3%...4 % battery drain .
(I have the phone for about 3..going 4 days ? , so have charged it a lot,as i was installing apps and testing Spen features etc..)
what i have noticed is that when i start using it the drain was much less ( reminds me of when i was on Android vers 4.1.1 than my Note 2 and my Note 8.0 (tablet ) ,both on Android version 4.1.2 )
So to me the Note 3 ,on Android vers 4.3 ,battery consumption is excellent.!( for me )
Also my impressions of Note 3 is following ,
Holding Note 2 and Note 3 ,in both your hands, the Note 2 ( like some people have correctly stated )
feels heavy and oudated, even though Note 2 is very good, the Note 3 is so much better !!! overall .!!
To me as a former Note 2 user, the Note 3 is a worthy uprade (the hardware.. 2.3 ghz cpu ,improved Spen features
the feel of phone ,all of Samsungs gimmicky features ,
Also Note 3 is overall very, very smooth and fast,
yes its all good .!!
Plse remember ,
(This is my opinion only ,coming from a former Note 2 user)
Bottom line ,
i upgraded to Note 3 because i could ,wanted to , and had a contract that expired !!

I am finding it very good and expect it to improve when I stop just unlocking it to "play" with it. I have charged it to 100% overnight and unplugged it at about 8 am. I am going out and about today so I will post back a little later with "moderate usage". Hope it helps :)

the guy i spoke to at cellc in galleria (toti) said they just got emails about it saturday. he reckons they might have more details of the deals tomorrow. so far all i got out of him was R429 for a 100min/sms/mb.

Excellent and it sounds like you are thoroughly enjoying it :) also encouraging me WRT the upcoming Android4.3 update for other Samsungs, it sounds like they did an outstanding job with optimizations.

Very nice, 97% after almost 30minscof usage is a good indication, I know my GS4 would be at around 94-95% at that point, Google Services eating far too much though, I bet if you go into Settings -More Tab -Location Services and uncheck WiFi & Mobile network location your battery life will increase that bit more. :)

I just unchecked wifi under the location options but there was no mobile option :/

I am not sure what mediaserver is :/

Just got my hands on this beast. Its even more beautiful than I could have hoped. Oh happy days! Cheers trusty s2. Time to retire to the cupboard.

Have any Note 3 owners in this thread upgraded from an S3 or S4? How does it compare in terms of pocketability? It'll be a disaster if I got a phone that doesn't fit in my jeans nicely.

Did you guys get the LTE version? I'm due for upgrade with nashua tomorrow and they only have the n9000. Should i take it or wait for n9005? I cannot make up my mind. Some suggestions?

That's fine if you've unchecked WiFi, it means things have changed in 4.3 a bit.

Media server deals with Music, Videos, SDCard etc... So if you are using a Music app, Video app or if you are transferring a lof data between internal mem and SD Card Mediaserver will pop up.

Don't do it!

Get yourself a dual sim from Vodacom & leave your Note 3 at home when you go out to party.

Be street wise. ;)

I upgraded from the s2 and believe it or not, it is a bit lighter than the s2. No problems in the pockets so far (just because it hasn't really left my hands yet)

Getting my "special edition" Note 3 tomorrow

Hmm I haven't done anything media wise expect take a screenshot and upload it to photobucket this morning. Anyway thanks for the help :)

Also regarding the portability, I was plesently surprised at how it fits nicely in almost all my pockets :) It's just the right size imo.
