Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I cried last week when my N2 fell and broke.

I'm now looking for a replacement phone and decided to go for the N3. Anybody got any leads on where I can buy this at a decent price near Centurion/Midrand. The couple places I've called quoted me 9k or 10k for it! I almost fell off my chair :)

Edit: want to avoid the whole online/gumtree route due to the number of apparent clones out there.

Carbonite will be your best bet
Can pick them for 6k, used but sometimes might get a sealed in box unit.

Get a class 4 SD card if you can. Sandisk has an app called MemoryZone, with built-in benchmarking test.

On Android 4.1.2 I got 11.6MB/s transfer rate, but when I upgraded to 4.3, the transfer rate shot up to 28MB/s.

This app does not seem to be working on 4.4.2. It does not pick up any memory.

Can someone on Kit Kat confirm please?

Also it seems like this is only a Memory Card advertising app since it tests your internal memory and gives inaccurate internal memory speeds

These are my actual internal speeds...

The former seems about 100Mb/s less than my actual speed...

Thank you. There have been some decent buys there :)
Guess I have to play the waiting game till one comes up.

Yeah, Sandisk wants you to buy their best cards, the app always recommend the top one. :)

But you can disable the benchmark app and add all your cloud storage, like Dropbox, Google Drive & Microsoft Skydrive (cant remember what its called now), then you have a quick summary of all your storage.

Very useful to me.

I love my note 3! Just waiting for the Kitkat upgrade in South Africa
Don't get to excited by the KitKat update. I loaded one off the Sammobile website and to be honest, you will not even notice the differences in daily use. My battery life is the same, performance is still as good as it was and really nothing new that is significant.

I'm running KitKat since Friday on my Note 3. Battery life has improved. Phone has more RAM available. It runs much smoother.

Sure you flashed KitKat? :D

+1. A little smoother, but increase in battery time is insane. By now I am typically between 50% and 60%
With KitKat I am sitting at 77% still. Much better.

Same here. Sitting on 79%. By now it should've been about 50% yes.

Did you do a battery pull? I had to before the phone "settled".
