My OTA worked just fine luckily ,though it did take forever to download , almost 2hrs I think ! But I was patient and let it run is course and now I'm running Kitkat on my note 3 . There was something strange though, after the update was finished and the phone rebooted I immediately got another update notification for another 27mb or so. I have not had much time to really sit down and go through it all but at a glance I can only see a couple of cosmetic changes changes really , that and the lock screen unlocks a whole lot quicker now .
So which version is best to use? Vodafone? British? Polish?
Vodafone build is branded, Polish build is unbranded and doesn't have Video hub, British build is unbranded and has Video Hub. They all have the same changelog, so none is better than the other except for what I've mentioned.
In the end it comes down to personal preference. I prefer a unbranded phone, so I use the British build.
what about warranty? does that play a part?
Warranty only plays a part when you trip Knox by rooting your phone. You can root on 4.3 without tripping Knox, but installing a custom recovery will however trip Knox. Rooting 4.4 KitKat will unfortunately trip Knox since a loophole that was used has been shut.
So basically your warranty is fine if you install any Samsung firmware on your device, matter what region it comes from.
