I updated but haven't noticed anything different yet. I'm hoping for battery life improvement. I don't have any issues with my WiFi although I don't use it often

My battery is Ok-ish since the update - My wi-fi sometimes doesn't auto reconnect to known wi-fi connections - I'll sit at home for hours and then only notice I'm running on mobile data instead of my home wi-fi.

I didn't know that about gorilla glass. I find my screen protector gets scratched from my bank cards rubbing against the screen. I wonder if the bank cards will scratch the screen if it were "naked".

I have one of those flip cases for my phone with the bank cards on the left.

It switches to mobile data when your phone decides that your wi-fi Internet connection is too slow to be usable, and because our speeds are so pitiful in sunny SA, it happens in a LOT of cases. Remember these things are designed for the first world. What we think of as decent, but not fast speeds are so crushingly slow that the phone thinks there is something wrong with your wi-fi and switches to mobile. In those first world countries it's a good idea, mobile data is uncapped or at least very cheap, so if your wi-fi is slow, it's a good way to make sure you always have a decent connection. Not so much here.

I think it's part of 4.4.2. Or 3. It can be disabled in the wi-fi settings, press the menu button, click advanced, and untick Auto Network Switching.

That's strange. Mine connects instantly when I get to a known WiFi hotspot. I hope the update resolves your issue. I can imagine it get frustrating

Anyone having battery drain again from 'media'. Killing my battery in less than a day, can't figure it out. Haven't installed any new apps since problem started so not sure. Got n9005

Think I found it. Cleared cache and data on media storage, download manager and downloads. Seems something was stuck downloading from my mp3 downloader...... Haha

It looks better after the update - I'll keep monitoring and report back.
I also updated my Swiftkey yesterday and got the theme packs and new layouts - Schweet!

Ok so I put my sandisk 64GB micro SD I bought into my Note 3, and after a few days of use it says it is read only. Why? Is my card faulty already?

Probably. MicroSD cards don't have a read only switch. 64Gb cards are awesome by the way, hold a lot of music.

Have you tried formating it, if keeps doing it I'd say it's shot.

So the worsed happened to me yesterday. Phone fell in the bath. I pulled it out and was still working. Dried it up etc everything seemed fine until about 4 hours later I put it to charge and it wouldn't charge. Would say charging but wouldn't go up. Tried micro USB as well but nothing. If I switched off the phone and tried to charge it would show an empty battery with a circle and just reboot and show the same thing in a loop. Took a toothbrush and cleaned the phone where u connect the charger. If I go under settings to battery it shows "charging (usb)" it thinks it's connected to a pc but maybe the charger doesn't give enough power like a usb does? I got to work and plugged it into a pc and it seems to charge but very slowly and the phone must be off.. any ideas what the water damage damaged? Maybe it's the battery or the charger port on the phone? Also my phone is rooted so Knox has tripped. So wondering if anyone has used the ADH premium service with a rooted phone?

I think you should be ok. It's worth a shot. Take it in, don't say anything. They can only say no ;)

...
I know in theory it doesn't but I'm using a shell cover and I like the extra security. Also sand particles are harder than anything so that could damage the gorilla glass.

Sand pits are for the kids. Mkay.
:p

..."

I live 500m from the beach... It's a must for me.

You may have a valid reason...but the rest of us don't live on the beach or take our phones there.

You running kitkat? If yes, thank Google, for making your SD read-only.

If you are rooted, I have put up a link in the useful apps thread.

WTF, you have to be kidding me :wtf:

Yes, version is 4.4.2

I am sure I could write to it a few days ago though.

I don't see why it should be corrupt yet, as it's a new card.

Should I format again anyway to "refresh" it?

From my experience, this Micro SD card corruption is no joke. And it seems google is not happy with the FAT filesystem due to permissions.
So it looks like 2 things are going to have to change to help the future of micro SD:

+ A different filesystem (exFAT and FAT32 have issues)
+ Fix reliability, data corruption

I would suggest unistall greenify and see if it resorts back to previous behavior.

Untill samsung decides to update the roms.

Nope, greenify will work on a non-rooted phone with limited functions.

Phone can't do a selfie, but looks almost identical to this.

Except the name and logo is slightly smaller (i.e. obviously not an original, but a darn good copy none the less).

PS, the seller is insisting it is an "OEM" product.

I have the original case... My girlfriend brought it back from the states. I paid 18 dollars for the red one. It's a nice fit and I like the feel of the case. Only thing I don't like is that the headphone slot doesn't fit all cables I've tried.
