Samsung Galaxy Note 3

The best rom I've ever used. Temasek is like a machine. There's an update to the Rom basically everyday with bug fixes, features and optimisations. You don't have to update tho, I flash updates weekly. The WHOLE rom is around 300mb.

No reboots since alpha versions which was around November last year I think. Signal is perfect, but I updated my modem and bootloader earlier this year. Temasek gets 7 hours screen on. I average 3.5hrs but I play a lot of Clash of Clans.

Comes prerooted. And as for missing S-Pen features, they can be had with 3rd party apps.

Did you update to the latest stock Modem/bootloader from one of the XDA threads that have them listed?

Just got a new battery (from Takealot - nearly got ripped off by a Samsung store) so no need to upgrade phone for a while. Love this device, its still slightly behind the S2 as my all time fav

Was it an original Samsung battery and the price?

I've asked this in another thread but I'll ask it here as well seeing it's a Note 3 I'm having the issue with.

Is it normal for the phone to show the little "no network" icon when the phone loses 3G/4G signal and auto switches to GSM/Edge?

I'll be in an area with poor 3g signal and it'll take 5-10sec to switch to full strength edge signal and it'll show the "no network" icon where the signal normally is whilst switching. It may do this up to 5 times an hour if I stay in the same place with poor 3G, switching from 3G to Edge and "no network" whilst switching. If I put it onto GSM/Edge only it'll stay rock solid at full signal the whole time.

I ordered 1 cos the old was lasting half a day. From takealot, original Samsung battery, someone helped me with a R100 voucher so it landed me R213 iirc.

Not lasting but maybe its the avg that I installed that is causing a problem. Phone switched off when battery was 20% and took a photo with the flash on...

Gonna try it again this weekend, maybe needs a few charge cycles.

Intelli3G app allows you to set the phone to auto switch to edge when connected to WiFi and edge/3g when not, works well. Also keeps a handy notification running so you can easily switch between the 2 manually. Needs root though.

My warranty is expiring in a few weeks and I'm just wondering if this behaviour is normal, seems it could possibly be, does any one else experience this "no network" for a few a few sec or sometimes longer when the phone auto switches from 3G to edge?

I have it where (LTE version) the phone looses signal for a few secs. On Telkom mobile.

My wife's phone looses wifi key every few weeks (also LTE version).

For how long though, mine can lose network for sometimes up to 30sec and longer. It's also the LTE version, no LTE in my area though so I have switched to 3g/edge only which hasn't helped.

Shot for that. Last used it with Xposed on 4.4.4 totally forgot about it.

So I tried Norma Rom today for an hour or so. It's a mix of the S6 Edge+ and Note 5. My God I still hate TouchWiz. They have some neat tricks with the S-Pen but all the rest is utter sh*t. I thought they trimmed down? Looks like they just left out a few 'gimmicks'.

I understand the need for manufacturers to differentiate themselves with skins but I don't understand why Samsung feel the need to go so overboard.

Have you ever noticed the "no network" when the device switches from 3g to edge?

Where I live (My flat and my Mum's place) I barely get signal at all so I don't really have good data to work with but... When I'm at work it does switch between HSDPA+/3G and Edge. Occasionally there's that no signal for a few seconds, tho not all the time. But if I'm at a mall like Galleria/Pavillion/Gateway there is no 'no signal' sign in between switching.

Anyone know where I can get a new silver lining around the phone?

Possibly only comes as part of a complete lcd screen I think, Vodacom replaced my screen recently and that replaced the silver bezel as well.

How much did you pay to replace the screen? Can I do this with ADH?

Hi guys,

Just wanna also ask about ADH premium that we got on our Note 3's,

You don't really see them advertising ADH anymore on the new Samsungs but if i remember correctly they mentioned that if you don't use your ADH premium (2 free incidents in two years) then it gets carried over to the next Samsung flagship you buy

Can anyone confirm this?
