Huh I thought 2 September? Jeez I misread big time
Hi ,
No ,your assumption of 2 Sept ,should be correct .
Originally ,it was pushed back to 23 Sept .(Pre order was to then open 9 Sept .)
However ,pre order is already open .
However ,
Vodacom Admin , told me (this past friday )
that it should launch 1..2 Sept.
Prices should be up this week.

An update ... ,
Looks like 23 Sept is still possible .?
Spoke to Vodacom online , this morning (re pre order etc )
and after the salesperson checked her facts ( re: Note 7)
stated " mid September " (Not committing to a date ) .
So , 2 Sept is out and looks like @ blaaislaai ,might get his birthday present on 23 Sept .?
So apologies to @ michellej , info above , is not correct .
Also @ adielk maybe you did misread ?
Good luck

All good. Hopefully worth the wait.... Hopefully they purchased the stock before the rand went up again and continues to climb... Otherwise we could be in for a nasty surprise price wise

Remember guys, you can upgrade from the 1st of the month you are due to upgrade. So do not have to wait until the exact day of your upgrade. At least this is with Vodacom, not sure about MTN, but should be the same.

Well 3 months before usually on mtn. But if there's no hardware what's the point?

I think upgrades may be processed 2 September but new lines must wait. Probably saw 23 as 2 September

It was originally meant worldwide besides usa to be the 2nd September. The demand was so great that many countries have been pushed back including SA. I know europe is before the 9 September

I honestly don't see what advantage the Note 7 has over the S7 edge ? I have owned Samsung Note phones before, and never use the stylus. So if you don't use the stylus...what benefit is there above an S7 Edge ?
The last video I saw of the soft exterior components used on the Note 7 also has me worried. It seems to scratch much easier than the S7

If you have the S7edge, and don't need the S Pen, don't upgrade

If you are due an upgrade, and don't have the S7edge yet, and won't use the S Pen, get the S7edge.

I scrapped the idea, they only have the 32GB 3GB RAM variant of Mate 8, that would be like getting a Note 4 with a HD1080P screen.

Waiting for LG V20 unveiling before I fully commit to Note7.

Threads have been started on various forums reporting that some users are experiencing bootloops, crashes and even complete bricking of the Galaxy Note 7 through no apparent fault of their own. PhoneArena shared an image of their office unit which appears to be having trouble booting up as well. We’ve also received reports from users who experienced similar problems. Those who are experiencing these issues say that the handset worked fine for the first couple of days and these problems emerged out of the blue. Apparently trying to reboot the phone into safe mood doesn’t work as well, wiping the cache and complete factory resets don’t seem to be fixing the problem.

Also, their flavour of Android looks horrible
