I upgrade on 1 Oct with mtn. Tried to get an early upgrade so I can preorder the note 7 (offering to pay the the subscription of the remaining month in advance) - but no. So will have to be patient and hope there is stock when I finally can upgrade..... :(

http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/0...ecall-due-exploding-batteries-might-imminent/

A Samsung official*speaking to*Yonhap*said*the company estimates that less than*0.1% of Galaxy Note7 devices sold were affected and that the root of the problem was traced back to the battery. But at several millions sold, even this small a percentage can be a hazardous*risk and one Samsung is not ready to gamble with.*Since the Note7 doesn't have a removable battery,*the official says that the company is about to issue a recall of*all its new Galaxy Note7 devices sold at home and abroad.

I was just about to post the same article. The next line reads...

The announcement should happen within a week, while Samsung irons out the kinks of making a recall with its dealers like Verizon in the U.S.

Vodacom must be aware of this. surely it would have been a good idea to hold onto the units until the 23rd as planned in lieu of an announcement. If it doesn't come, release the phones as planned.

Okay guys and girls it's up and running. It's definitely the Exynos version. To be honest it's the best phone I've ever used. Very similar to the S7 edge but better looking in my opinion. The sides are no longer silver but more of a space black. The screen protectors from the care pack work like a charm. No lifting and fit quite nicely and cover the edges too. Cover is decent. Very minimalistic. Any other questions?

Actually had the S7 edge before the s7. Some how the edges on the note don't seem to be as intrusive. Had a couple of note 5s before that to and a mate 8 and P9 plus so the size is quite normal for me but for someone that has no use for the spen I cant warrant trading the S7 edge for the note other than the fact that it's better looking, easier to hold and the touch wiz skin is bearable for me now.
