Sorry my bad then, could have sworn the F variant of the previous Note series meant Snapdragon...

Oh well, we get the more snappier phone then, that may or may not explode ;) Can't wait, hope i come right tomorrow. Thanks again RochaZA for the info and tip.

On the note 4 it did mean snapdragon.

Had another call from the same consultant. Informed me about that Vodacom was instructed by Samsung SA to halt distribution of the Note 7 until the investigation by the parent company is completed. They(Vodacom SA) still expecting it to be finalised before 23rd of September. So no parcel delivery for me on Monday.
 
Thank goodness! Rather they sort this out and then continue to sell it. I may just get it if the issue gets resolved.

For now I'm waiting for 6th Sept.

Oh well that's the final straw. S7 Edge here I come. Now I only need to decide what colour I want, black, silver or gold...

With the s7 there was very little to distinguish between silver and gold... very little. The only problem I have, the clear cover plastic always seem to go yellow, so you end up with a yellow phone :(

I have had the same issue with all the clear covers that I've used so far. Even the Spigen cases seems to turn yellow.
 
From what I've red there is 34 affected devices in the ones sold and only those will be re-called. Waiting to here in anticipation though. Mine hasn't exploded yet. Although I'm charging it with the wireless charger.
 
Bring on the LG V20, they better take good advantage of this! E.g. wider and faster release and lower price.

Last time I heard of this sort of recall was in the Nokia N97 and Sony Ericsson Satio days.
 
Was really looking forward to this device and the accessories, now this delay, plus Vodacom's systems are offline so can't help me...

Willing to wait for them to sort it out etc, but one of the big attractions for me was the pre order goodies...
 
According to Samsung South Africa they are aware of the issue but have been told the devices received in our Country are not affected by the battery issue as it was the second batch of phones made by Samsung (The first batch made was affected). I'm waiting for them to confirm this through email and the lady that was helping me said she will escalate the matter and get back to me during the course of today.
 
A bit worrying because over on Facebook it seems they were not even aware that Vodacom were selling the Note 7's as of yesterday already and they made a statement to the tune of that the Samsung Note 7 has not been released as yet in SA (posted this morning) .

I was considering the Note 7 as my upgrade for my work line , but Im not in the mood for any back and forth with potential issues/recalls , Samsung S7 edge here we come , just to decide between Gold and Silver .
