Don't think IR is coming. Problem is not many people used it and the people who did use it really liked it

i dont really see myself using it too. quicker to just use stock remote anyway i think.

Exclusive: leaked Note 7 front panel confirms iris scanner

Thanks to our exclusive tipster @onleaks – who has a long pedigree of accurate leaks – the image reveals Samsung’s next Note will have a dual edge panel and will measure 5.8-inches. Furthermore, looking at the top of the smartphone, we can see additional cutouts that weren’t present on the Galaxy S7 Edge which suggests that the iris scanner will be present.

A recent patent application by Samsung showed how its iris scanner would work and suggested that three lenses would be required for accurate recognition, which we can see by the three circular holes at the top of the Note 7. Considering that the iris scanner needs to be mounted above the display, the leak also reveals that Samsung is set to do-away with its logo on the front of the handset, in a bid to reduce the amount of bezel above the screen.

There are some press pictures floating around. It looks good. There's this nice light blue one. Looks very professional. But the additional iris scanner means there are a lot of visible black circles in the front (near front facing camera). So the black version may still look the best.

This looks like a great phone. I'm a big fan of the Notes.

Seeing rumours of it possibly coming with 4GB RAM is disappointing, we are going to be paying a heavy premium for this thing, it better have 6GB RAM and a huge battery (+3500mAh) at very least!

Lets hope its not true.

I may just keep my Note 4 for another year if this comes true.

Note are supposed to be the pinnacle in HW, but Samsung dropped the ball with the Note5 and seems they may do it again with the next Note.

Oh crumbs. I was debating between the S7 and the Note 5. Now hearing about the Note 6/7 has put a spanner in the works for me.

The Note 7 looks promising, but I think I'll stick to my Note 4 or get a Huawei P9 Plus. I'm still very disappointed at Samsung for abandoning the NX1 after just one year on the market. I doubt I'll ever buy a Samsung device again...
