If you like big phones, Huawei is also planning on announcing the Mate 9 soon. Also sounds very powerful, so will see.

As far as i am concerned now the Note 7 has come and gone for me :( Great device, but too many uncertainties and issues.

Someone mentioned they should completely scrap the Note 7 name and simply move on to a Note 8. Actually not a bad idea.

I said that just after the story broke, a bit of cosmetic change and bang, new improved Note 8 ;).

They cant move to Note 8, maybe Note 7 Pro or Note 7 Prime etc... But not Note 8, the whole point of going Note 7 and skipping 6 was to align with the same year S series.

They must just fix it at this point, get what they can out of it and do a hell of a job with the S8, S8 Edge and later Note 8, next year.

Yeah, but if the S8 comes with what its rumored to (4K display and 6GB RAM), if they just change the name Note 7 to Note 8, the Note will be demoted to a lesser model, and then a Note 9 launches later in the same year, it would be such an utter mess.

They could always skip the s8 and s8 edge and go straight to s9 ;).

Oh gosh. I'd hate to be their Marketing Director. LOL!

Let them burn and learn their lesson with the Note 7.

You know what I love about this drama? Its their chance to reset, and shift focus, change their narrative and possibly shift the industry.

Samsung has done it before, in the 90s when they began focusing on the quality of their products, as well as product support and marketing, they grew into the massive juggernaut we see today.
The mobile industry is in need of some change, maybe a focus on safety and refiniment should be their next step? Lets see what they do with the 8 range next year. Huge opportunity here.

I also heard that when a company has something like this happen to them, it is a good idea to stick with them next time round, they will pull out all the stops to make us forget the Note 7 issues.

This is also one of the reasons i might just wait another year if i don't get something else now, can you imagine what the Note 8 will pack to make up for this ;)

So think for me would be Huawei mate 9 if it's brilliant, or keep my Note 4 and get Note 8.

Oh Sheeeite, another bad day for Samsung...

A safe Note 7 decided to commit suicide.

A Samsung Galaxy Note 7 deemed to be safe has exploded in China, throwing into question the safety of new handsets.

Another Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has exploded. Yes another one. If you’ve got sick of hearing about these devices going up in flames, this story is a bit different. It turns out that the Note 7 featured was actually one of the ‘safe’ models which isn’t supposed to contain the battery defect.

The device featured in the pictures included the new black square marking on the packaging, an indicator that this was one of the newer handsets supposedly unaffected by the issue. According to CNNMoney, this represents the fourth report of a Note 7 battery-related fire in China.

Mayb its a component in the phone that is causing the batteries to explode... Can you imagine if it wasnt just the battery at fault and they must do another recall

On android central people complaining that new batches are getting fire hot.....
