Will do looking forward to it, and just to let you all know its the 8gb internal + 8gb sd card model

Quick question guys how do i stop 3g or data via vodacom being used as dont have a data plan?

heheh....but he doesn't have a data plan...lol
I guess you'll have to use a little bit in order to block it

Edit: unless you are using wi fi

I hope you have wifi cause if you don't have internet at all the phone is pretty much pointless.

Hey I do have wifi, will look at getting a data plan. How do I activate one via ussd? Haven't used vodacom for a long time. What's the most cost effective one to go for?

*111# > 2 > 2 Then choose either broadband advanced or standard. Standard tends to be a better deal since they changed the rates. The best R/MB is the 2GB standard, but it's probably a bit much :P 100 - 150 MB a month should be fine if you're planning to do things like app updates and music/video streaming using WiFi.

I got my Galaxy S last week Saturday at Vodaworld in Midrand, been awesome so far...

Just a heads up to everyone getting the phone though, there is still an issue connecting the phone to Samsung Kies (phone suite for pc) via USB. If you do a bit of research you will see a lot of forums linked to this issue. Unlike most people think, the problem is not linked to a particular app being installed but rather the files located on the phone – some apps tend to create these types of files and hence people start to suspect the apps. I can confirm that the issue is ONLY related to files located on the phone with a file extension longer than 16 characters (don’t ask me why anyone would want a file with an extension that long). Dolphin HD, Soundhound and some other apps tend to create these files which causes the USB connection to fail.

I almost died when I connected the phone to my PC the first time and it started flashing its screen and ultimately crashing. :wtf:

Cool will get a basic package, is there a way to tell apps to use wifi as opposed 3g?

My friend just got his. Played on it a bit. Wow is all I can say. MTN says this week :) They better be right hehe

Ok this takes me to airtime transfer options not data bundles??

Ok got a data bundle, but one question does anyone else have an issue with downloading apps via wifi only? can connect but cant download it just says download unsucsesful, or just hangs on starting download

moving from the NOkia E71 to samsung S where the E71 had a full qwerty keyboard, and the dictionary was quite intuitive how is typing speed on this phone. on the e71 I could type a full sms in under a minute, it was just button bashing. Is it going to be a shock for me?
