I have been trying out this ROM, kernel and modem...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1141201

Wifi on, bluetooth periodically and GPS on auto. Phone came off charge at 08h00. It is now 22h55 and battery just at 73%
Had a few calls today, surfed the web and had the guys in the office playing on the phone a bit.

Pretty damned good battery life if you ask me. I think I have finally found my config of choice :)

I used VR for quite a long time and never got battery life this good.

Very impressive!

I'm on 34 hours without any data turned on and I'm on 70%. This is with normal usage. It just proves how much battery life mobile data uses. I normally get a 24-30 hours with my mobile data turned on.

One problem I'm experiencing with KG5 and CF-Root 4.1 is that some apps like whatsapp dont clear your last message text, so everytime you type a new message it still starts with the text of the previous message so you have to backspace all of it first. Is it just me?

So, 5 minutes standing in the middle of my garder like a nana, 8 sats found, none locked.... what the blurry hell am i doing wrong. I think it may be time to make one of those reset jigs and ask about the warranty!!

Its that place you live in, being that close to the sea has rusted parts of your brain. True story... it looks like it hasnt got a lock but its actually the corrosion in your brain telling you that its not locked.

Oh and nice to see you on mybb :p

*facepalm*

It's 2011 and people still ask this?!

Change it til its full, then play with it. I didn't charge mine wheN i got it, I just simply sswitched it on and had fun. it is not required for lithium ion batteries to charge for 16 hours, in fact, it's bad for these kinds of cells. The phone even tells you to unplug it's charger when it's full of juice.

Except Lithium Ion is hardly used anymore, the batteries these days are lithium polymer which allows them to be smaller.
The advice is correct though, just use the phone until its flat and charge it up again.
The batteries have no problems with memory or anything like that but have serious issues with overcharging. So dont charge it for more than 8 hours at a time.

Ordered my Ultra Capsule from the SGP store on the 28th of August and received it yesterday. $29.88 or R210 initial payment and another R107 for customs. The case better be worth it.

LiPo batteries also dont like to dip below 15% either. You shouldnt ever run a LiPo completely flat as it can damage the cells.

My phone has run flat dead about 3 times now.. but most of the time it's charged or charging.. at work it's plugged in via USB most of the day as i listen to the radio.

Yeah, I was ranting and forgot that it's now polymer ;)

The advise I normally give to people is to do what the manual says, if there's ever a dispute for a warranty claim on a dead phone/battery, the manual has authority, not the sales pleb who's telling you to charge it for 16 hours.
