Does anyone know if there are galaxy s2 specific settings I must use when encoding video in MeGUI? I encoded the audio and video and muxed it into mp4 container but I just keep gettings errors playing the file on the phone

I'd prefer to use MeGUI if possible instead of another program.

EDIT: unless there's a way to play flv files on the phone

I have used MoboPlayer to play FLV files on the S2, maybe try that one if you have no other luck with MeGUI.

I have used MoboPlayer to play FLV files on the S2, maybe try that one if you have no other luck with MeGUI.

Also use MoboPlayer for all video files. Can also use VLC Beta, which plays FLV without problems.

On an unrelated note which MIUI rom do I download? the www.miuiandroid.com doesn't do anything I think it's offline or something. Will the version from www.miui.us work on SA phones? And can I still use the siyah kernel on that ROM or will the one that comes with MIUI suffice?

What do you mean they do nothing? MIUIAndroid is awesome. Just click on the latest build (2.7.6) in the top right corner of the screen.

PS: Download MXPlayer from the Play Store. It plays all video formats.

I think he was coming from stock, seeing as he also posted this on my CM9 install guide which offers instructions for stock & rooted.

HAHA! I bit of the stalker vibe going on there hey? I just pulled the cable out and tried it again. It worked. Thanks for the help, I am a clumsy tech, break everything and panicked a bit there.

I'm upgrading soon and will be taking the S3, really just because it I have to choose something. Else I would've been happy to use my S2 for another few months. But I'll put a stock ROM back on and give the S2 to the wifey.

Are there any other phone's you'd rather upgrade to?

I have been using WanamLite 10.9 ICS since about April. Been running great. Only now im experiencing some issues with calls.
I noticed theres a ton of new ROMs. I was wondering if anyone can assist in recommending a great (stable, fast, lite) ROM.
I would like to research but so short on time and need my phone in working order.

EDIT: Is it worth it to consider a AOSP/AOKP (CM9) based Rom over Stock Modified ROMs? I been reading a little about ppl bricking their phones.

I'm not exactly a 'flashaholic', although I have done a few ROM flashes. I find Cyanogenmod to be the most stable and problem free. That's just my opinion. The people in this thread who use it, myself included, like the 'RC1' (release candidate) build. Don't have links right now, sorry

Right, so I've shot myself in the foot, and now for some reason my efs folder has been cleared. I have a backup, but I can't restore it. No matter how many times I copy it over, nothing happens.

What is the latest official MTN stock ROM? From what I have read, a stock firmware flash may fix it (baseband is missing too).

Any help appreciated - links to non-file sharing sites even more, else I must download from home.
