It's good. I haven't gone hectically far but I was downstairs and using tethering while the phone was charging upstairs, this was through a wooden floor though.

Yep, standard procedure like installing any other rom. YOu can check here too if you want: http://wccftech.com/guide-download-install-cm101-android-422-jelly-bean-galaxy-s2-i9100/

The nightlies are very stable actually and once you have flashed the first time you can just use the cm updater to update without having to go in to recovery every time.

Finally got the nerve to flash CM10.1. Thanks for the help DrJohnZoidberg! For anybody who has a Galaxy S2, this ROM is awesome so far. Stable, smooth and very customizable!

Sweet, It is a great rom. Are you using the nightly builds?

I found the latest builds to have quite exceptional battery performance, yesterday (while admittedly being in standby most of the time) I got home after work to find my battery still sitting at 70%.

One thing I have noticed too is that the GPS does take a little while to lock on and is basically impossible to do indoors (which used to work fine) - I am wondering if they maybe were able to adjust the power output to the gps. I don't know if it's possible to do this with firmware alone, but it does seem to be a lot "weaker" and battery is lasting long despite having all GPS services on including Google Now.

Can only get better from here!

Have any of you tried avatar Rom? I'm using it now and love it feel like I have a new phone and live the themes it has. Running 4.2.2

I just used the latest nightly build from CM10.1. They don't list anything else

I haven't used the GPS yet, going to try it this afternoon with the new Google Maps.

Do you keep your Location Services on?

anyone had forced closes? random reboots or SOd with 10.1 on cm10?

The only time I get force closes is when I try to access the camera with Vine and the same thing with certain other apps that try access the video camera at a system level. The video camera drivers for the S2 on Cm10.1 are a bit sketchy.

At the moment, yes I have location services active.

Anyone tried the new Google Maps & Navigation?

I find the persistent search bar quite annoying. :(

The loss of Google Latitude is a greater problem. Incorporation of the functionality into Google+ (and with the age restrictions in G+, preventing the kids from joining) means the family need to find something else for tracking :(

Anyone using CM 10.1 nightlies? I've been using it for a while now and so far is pretty good!

Lately, however, I've noticed that the GPS does not lock on at all! Even in an open area. It's pretty darn annoying.

Anybody else experiencing this?

Read the previous two pages of this thread :)

It helps when you turn on all the locations services, GPS included, and restart the phone :)

The new Chrome browser is super smooth on my S2!!

Just when I thought it might be time for a new phone, I fall in love with my S2 all over again. :)

Time for a little change, downloaded the Simplex theme and changed dpi a little. Looks sweet :D

How did you do this? It looks great! It's not picking up my Apex themes. I've read that you have to be rooted for themes in CM10.1, is this true?

I'm playing around with utter. Driving me nuts though, the thing never understands the commands I program!

Heh, interesting name for a voice command app :p
