Those of you are who are experiencing issues, did you perform a clean install or just as is? I think that may be the cause of your issues...

... meaning wipe phone, format mem, wipe cache, wipe bat stats, wipe dalvik cache?

I am considering doing all that this weekend, but it is a lot of work and I am not convinced it is worth all the trouble.

What is your opinion?

My battery life has improved a lot. Rate I can get a day and a half instead of nearly a day.
No force close yet. Everything works.
Only issue I have is that I can't use juice defender to set the screen lock and timeout properly; it conflicts with ICS and then i unlock the screen, do any operation and I have to unlock it again?? But that's a beta juice defender issue.

Anyone else on XILA2 having experienced the problem where you cant answer a call...but you can hangup? And the dropped data problem where the connection just stalls?

It's not a lot of work at all. Just go into CWM recovery and use the wipe options. No need to clean out memory card :) Takes about a few seconds at best.

Nope.

Coming from LPH, the only difference I can notice in LPQ is the continous scrolling windows and panels. I also see the photo editor still isn't working

Anyone know where to get a jig locally ? my phone has the battery problem :/ have to send it in.

thinks its charging when it isn't, won't switch off, will just keep the screen flashing for battery overheating etc.

Why don't you just do this? It does not reset the flash counter but i doubt SA techies check that. It does remove the yellow triangle though. Then just install stock firmware and kernel and it will look 100% stock standard. I used this method the 1st time I flashed.

Getting rid of that pesky warning triangle during boot

On ICS, there is now a much easer way: Triangle Away

It is definitely possible to remove that pesky warning triangle during boot when running a custom kernel, though you should be well aware that this method does NOT reset the custom kernel flash counter. The steps are not complicated, but they aren't easy either, so read well.

(1) Make sure you have CF-Root flashed (see the first post). You must have the "CWM Manager" app available.

(2) Make sure you have the same version of CF-Root extracted until you have the zImage file. (ZIP --> extract --> TAR --> extract --> zImage).

(3) Push the zImage file to /sdcard . It must still be called zImage !

(4) Find an original Samsung signed stock kernel (preferably from the same stock firmware you have, but it's not terribly important)

(5) Reboot into download mode (adb reboot download, or boot the device with home and volume-down pressed)

(6) Fire up ODIN, and flash the Samsung kernel

(7) Boot the device with the stock kernel. CWM Manager will still be available.

(8) Start CWM Manager, select Flash Kernel, and select the zImage from CF-Root you previously put on your SD-card. The kernel will flash and the device will reboot.

(9) You will now notice you no longer have the warning triangle during boot, but you are actually running CF-Root with all it's goodies!

(10) In the future, if you only use the Flash Kernel option inside CWM Manager instead of ODIN, the triangle will not return, neither will your flash counter increase. But keep in mind, that CWM Manager can only handle a direct "zImage" if you are NOT running a kernel with full busybox support (this is currently needed for flashing kernels out of .TAR and .ZIP files)

It would help if you can say where you are

Must say the battery life is not great. From fully charged in the morning, it lasts only till about 9pm with moderate to low use. Any tips?

You are right ... not a lot of work do do these steps, but I actually meant that it is a lot of work to reinstall all the apps and set up the phone afterwards to your own requirements.

My KIES update only gives me a later version of Gingerbread and not ICS. How do you guys get ICS using KIES?

Sammie is very good when it comes to hardware but very poor with software. They will never achieve the hw+sw integrated brilliance of Apple. TW is rubbish. They broke Honeycomb with it and now they seem to be doing the same with ICS.

Im in Joburg, Randpark area :)

I am in pta. I have a jig. We can try if you care to travel out here. PM me

Oh ... and another thing ... for the jig to work, you have to have firmware with the old bootloader installed!

I disharged my battery completely and then charged it again fully. It went from 100% to 92% during the night which is a first for me.

Is that good or bad for you (being a first)? If a full charge stops at 22:00 and I unplug, I would be on 98% in the morning at say 06:00. XWLA4 or XWKJ3

Just remember that Li-Ion batteries do not like being discharged completely. And they don't like being left in the charger after being charged fully (max 15 mins aftert fully charged). It shortens the life of the battery if you don't treat it well.
