I'm not sure if it uses the same code as MIUI, but there to enter the SMSC number, you need to use a hex number and not a normal number. It was a schlep but I found a site that converts the normal number to hex. I don't know why they didn't just make it easy to enter the number as a normal number.

Just went back a couple of pages. Someone posted a fix. Just tested it and it worked like a charm. So happy that I dont have to go back v1.1.

Gonna check out the latest version MIUI tomorrow. Looks very spliffy. First have to do a proper backup, just in case.

Thnx for the quick response. Here is the link for the fix.

Thanks for the links. I also used the one from twit88 a while back. The fix you posted Freddy is basically what you do on that twit88 site. You put in the normal number and it spits out the hex for you.

I have used both Siyah and CF-Root. Both are excellent kernels and I haven't had any problems with them. I'm currently using the latest Siyah kernel and so far everything is going well.

I am not getting better battery life with 3.1.2 than CF-root. Any suggestions? What are your settings?

I used to have tapatalk "free" version on my SGS2 but lost that after a factory reset, and now I can't find the free version again :( so I tried to logon to MYBB via Opera on my S2? I enter my user name & password but MYBB tells me they are incorrect?

so is there a problem with MYBB or must I re register with a new password / user name etc.?

Ok, I took the plunge and installed the ICS XEN (Netherlands) firmware again.

Still trying to get used to the new text menus, let's see if it will "grow" on me. :)

One thing that doesn't work - DSTV Drifta. Anyone got the Drifta working on an official ICS ROM?

My settings are very basic. No overclocking/underclocking or undervolting. Using ondemand. Wifi/Bluetooth/GPS only on when needed. Auto sync disabled for everything except email. Using auto brightness. Data always on. That's basically it. The Rom you use also plays an important factor.

Use CPU Spy to see if your phone goes into deep sleep.

Just a quick one for anyone that is interested. Resurrection Remix Pro v1.7 is was released, been testing for over 24 hours and it is extremely stable. Absolutely loving it. If you backup using Titanium, only restore the apps after you install. Dont restore system data. It will cause issues.

Install is easy, only 1 file. Normal procedure is recommended. If coming from another ROM, do a factory reset, wipe cache, install ROM and then wipe Dalvik cache.

Reboot and enjoy.

Nice to know everything is working well on 1.7, I'm still on 1.3 and contemplating updating to 1.7. As for Titanium Backup, I always restore all my apps with data and have never had any issues. The problems begin when people try to restore system apps.

Unfortunately I have to use Rom Toolbox to backup my apps since Titanium Backup isn't compatible with running at 128 dpi which I have to use to run the Tablet UI mod on my phone, but Rom Toolbox seems to be doing a good job on my backups so far.

I have created a clock widget for UCCW based on the Samsung S3 render. Still have to add/change some elements. Here are a preview for those interested:

Edit: minor changes to widget

For those interested:

On CF-Root kernel I would normally get 21 hrs battery life i.e. full charge till about 23:00 and leave overnight and use the next day. When I wake up at about 6:00 in the morning, my battery would be on +-96% and at about 19:00 I would have about 25% left. I could probably make it till 23:00 again but then the battery would have drained completely.

I loaded Siyah kernel 3.2b1 over the weekend. Full charge ended at about 23:30 On Saturday evening. Sunday morning at about 7:00, battery still on 100%. This morning (Monday at 6:00) I had 37% left. A total of +- 30 hrs battery life.

It is still early days, but I will see over a longer period how it compares.

I still love this phone, I am using stock 4.0.3.

Cool things to do is multiboot roms, running linux/ubuntu and hating batteries.

One problem I have found is that the original charger is useless and doesn't work properly anymore.
