Samsung Galaxy S2

One problem I have found is that the original charger is useless and doesn't work properly anymore.

Thanks for the tip, I suspected it all along.

Fortunately I have a quality HTC charger, which will immediately be replacing the Samsung charger. :)

Just went back a couple of pages. Someone posted a fix. Just tested it and it worked like a charm. So happy that I dont have to go back v1.1.

Gonna check out the latest version MIUI tomorrow. Looks very spliffy. First have to do a proper backup, just in case.

Thnx for the quick response. Here is the link for the fix.

Thanks so much for posting this. I'm on 1.7 and there is no way I am going back to stock! The problem was not entirely fixed for me, though.

Now, when I send a sms, I get a notification "message not sent - touch to review the message and try again". Touching and trying again does not work, unfortunately...

I made sure to enter the SMSC number exactly.

Doubt it makes any difference, but I did flash the 'classic theme' as some at the XDA Remix thread say that it could solve the sms issue. My APN setting is the automatic "Vodacom ZA_internet" setting. Otherwise I just have the Westcrip ROM as it came, I did not flash another kernel.

Most of my friends and family are on Whatsapp etc., but naturally I need to send a sms now and again...

I haven't, just thought you might have. I think I'll try it soon. Perhaps it will solve my sms problem.

I am on Westcrip's AOKP Remix Resurrection ROM, v 1.7. I did update my SMSC as per posts a few pages back, but I still have problems (see post #4724). I still can't sms...

I have purchased MOBILE ODIN and would like to flash new firmware let's say I9100XWLP7_I9100XEULP5_XEU ....The firmware comes in a ZIP folder...Do I have unzip it onto the internal SD? or can I place it as is in a ZIP FILE in the Internal SD...?...
Also the method to flash this within Mobile ODIN
Thanks!

Can't help you with that, but I am sure another kernel will not solve it.

Which kernel are you using?

I can't take credit for the fix, it was actually jl10101 that found the fix by accident.

So, I was out Monday night at a place in Rivonia, and my phone was either lost or stolen (pick-pocketed) :(
As it turns out, I was on a AOKP rom, so no Samsung DIVE
The rom had avast installed, which also has tracking, but I hadn't bothered to configure it.

So now am undecided whether to replace it with another SII, or get something different.
I am not prepared to wait for an SIII, so guess I will just get another SII.

My sms problem with AOKP Res. Remix v 1.7 is fixed, I followed the advice on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1607422 that Codemaster posted...

Yes, unzip and place that file on your phone. Mobile Odin will automatically place each file on its right place.

Anybody here tried the Netherlands XWLP9 firmware?

Be careful with that one - I read that there is a critical problem with the kernel. I don't know if it was the CF-root kernel or the stock kernel. Just read up before you flash.
