Samsung Galaxy S21

Anyone know if our region got the Ultra version that has MST?

Phone 10213, head to sales and then there is an option to upgrade on there. That's where I ended up as mine is an upgrade too. Can't believe how unwilling telkom are to sell you a phone though.

The last thing I want to do nowadays is stand in a queue at a telkom store.

Pre ordered it on Friday evening last week.

Not much of a leap from the S20 and mostly feels the same... Though I've noticed the finger print reader is MUCH faster, the adaptive 120Hz display is nice though seems to be a gimmick, plastic back feels good in the hands, 3 camera lenses I feel are better than the big glass lens that cover them on s20, noticeably faster than S20 too and seems to run cooler, though I'll probably only test this theory when I get a case for it and start using it, hopefully before I have to give my old employer their S20 back so I can do a proper review.

Only hassle is... No covers available apart from a select few at Takealot, no clear case included anymore either :(

On the plus side, the flat edge is a pleasure to hold with no case

Also need to know. Upgrade is due and not yet decided if I should just carry on with my S10+ that's still serving me very well or go for the note 20 ultra.
 
Also maybe I can get some advice, tried plugging the Huawei charger into the Samsung but it does not seem to show that it is fast charging.

I tested it on my Powerbank that supports fast charging, also does not seem to show it on the phone.

Is Samsung doing an Apple on us where you will only be able to use Samsung chargers for this capability.

You have to enable fast charging ... it should as you the first time you plug in a fast charger
 
Also on a side note, downloaded the first software update last night for the phone, included various improvements, forgot to take a screenshot.

Got a confirmation email back but that's all... Hoping to get them soon as I want to flog the headphones to get some cash back for the phone.

Waiting for any news on the R1000 Samsung Store voucher, even though there's no covers on their store yet.

Incredible connection offered a R1000 voucher for the base S21 which I bought from them, still waiting for that too.

We're on the same upgrade cycle, I'm also moving from an S10+ which has been such a great experience -best phone I've owned

That is correctly done thanks. Strange though that it is faster than the old device as my current S9 uses the exact same bands and bandwidth size as in your screenshots so the S21 must have some other trick up its sleeve. Maybe something like 8x8 mimo or 1024qam that MTN will then also need to support

Thinking the same yes, it's also worth a mention that I'm in a 5G coverage area so maybe that's why the throughput is better?

Can't connect to 5G just yet, seems like I have to be provisioned for it first, just waiting for MTN to respond. Will post speedtests when I eventually have access.

Oh my gosh that was so much easier, thank you. I dont understand why the person i spoke to yesterday didnt just tell me to do that instead of "sorry go to the store".
Much Appreciated man.
