Samsung Galaxy S23

The S22 Ultra does not have impressive battery life and that's running with a black OLED screen saver, with the frequency at 60Hz and with extra dim on and BT off. The new Gen2 chipset is more optimized when it comes to power use but does it translate into significant improvements? The CPU/GPU performance for heavy loads is limited by the cooling which is poor so maybe this has marginally better performance being more power efficient but probably not by more than 10-15%.

Same as last year i think. As long as it can turn on, they'll take it. interesting that they don't take iphones though. Would be a good incentive for someone with an old model to switch to samsung.

Seems the same?

Look under offer section of T&Cs
Yes, the T&C's say it is, but when you do the actual valuation it spits out a lower value.

Will most likely just buy the phone and then claim the trade-in afterwards.

I may be wrong but my understanding is the valuation you're getting is just a general everyday valuation of the device in question.

The 10k deal is a specific promotion when purchasing the S23 range.
You'll notice it has a promo period.

Well, it shows X amount which you confirm. Previous trade-ins showed the 10k value. I just think it will be hard to fight saying T&C's show X but you accepted X when doing the trade-in.

I'll just wait for the correct trade-in form that shows the 10k when you enter your old phones details.

When is the S23 being released locally?

There will be a special link for the S23 trade-in just like last year.
The normal trade-in link will not show the R10k

Am thinking the same thing...When you click the link for the Flip, it gives you the full value regardless of condition.

I am planning on doing the Trade in at the Telkom store to get a reduction off my upgraded contract. It says in the T's and C's its possible but doubt anyone in the Telkom store will know anything about it based on previous experience.

I contacted Samsung via whatsapp, quite helpful/responsive.

Are the older model Sammy's going cheap yet? :whistling:

I was looking at "Vodacom deals" last week, and, as an example, the 3 year contract with 50 minutes and 500GB data was R70 cheaper for the S22 Ultra vs the S23 Ultra......

Massive saving.

Damn. I was hoping to at least grab the S22 at a decent deal. Ah well will wait some more and see what happens in the next month or two
