Samsung Galaxy S23

Interesting. Mine's never been dropped. My brother's probably has because he has a 4yo who sometimes handles the phone.

I'm shaking mine now at my waist in a quiet room and can hear the camera rattle.
Strange, mine has been dropped a lot and nada. Though I've got a small scratch on the main lense though

One Ui 7.0 seems to be available for the S23.

is your S23 getting it? AFAIK it is only available in South Kprea and USA officially and other places start getting it later this week for S23 and S24FE

Ok so updated, yeah ok so a few little things different, like the app launcher is more traditional android now, good lock works properly now as well. Other than that, font changes, battery % sucks on the home screen.
Oh some AI fluff added as well.

Also not a fan of the new battery % indicator.

I do like that the battery charging settings for maximum preservation has a slider where you can choose the charging stop point to be 80/85/90/95, whereas previously it was 80% only.

I also like that auto call recording is back and in the background which I have missed since leaving Xiaomi.

Yeah saw that now :)

Anyone seeing excessive battery drain after upgrading to OneUI 7?

I wasn't, but when my dad and brother started complaining about drain on the Ultra's, I then took note and mine also seems to drain faster than before - I had not noticed because I often place it on my wireless desk charger.

I searched online and found many people on Reddit also complaining.

Is your phone 2 years old, going into it's 3rd year?

If so this is normal for Samsung, the update in the 3rd year kills your phone so that you have to buy a new one. Changing the battery isn't going to help, I've tried it before...

Turned 2 this month, yes. I had hoped that restricting charging to 80% would extend the life of the battery as we are all in a 36 month contract (R799pm x36)

Nope not really much different.

it did not affect my S24FE but someone with an S22 is complaining about the battery drain big time - so One Ui7 is hit and miss in this respect

I have experienced the same issue. Not that the battery life was amazing to start with anyway.

OneUI 8 is out. Just updated my Ultra.

No major changes. Weather app has better graphics and as I type this, each keyboard press is linked to a much stronger vibration motor BRRR through my fingers.

Yeah updated as well, not really seeing much difference.
Then again updates nowadays aren't about the flash bang whizz of yore.

Darn, the slight second-ish delay when you pull up the task switcher in an app is still there in One UI 8.

Hopefully fixed in 8.5 😅

From any particular app? Cause I've got no delay on my ultra when pulling up the task switcher.
