That doens't turn off the battery full? Wow, then I don't know. I assume it turns off everything else other than ring tones and notifications, like battery low warning.

You have no idea how this is pissing me off. It's the exact same sound it makes when you plug in the charger. Why Samsung Why!!!!!!
 
Is the tone linked to the battery charge LED? Under Settings, Display, LED indicator. You can turn off the charge indicator.

I have now done that. Rather annoying, because I actually want to see if the phone is charging, but let's see if it works.

No no no. Silent/Blocking mode is not an option. Putting the phone elsewhere? Then I can just as well put it on silent. Now a drink or two...let's roll! :D

Yeah, all valid rants though. The thing IS flimsy as hell. Kies IS useless, but then so is most other hardware vendors' software. Lenovo and Compaq's software to give an example. Otherwise the phone is OK.

This is obviously a problem, so seriously just root the thing and rename the tone file.

You can complain all you like about the samsung implementation of the AOSP but that will not change the fact that their implementation won't allow you to turn off this notification independently of the other ones. The point is there is a solution, you just have to be willing to do it.

Yeah I realize pissing in my pants won't solve anything. I am just astounded that Samsung consider this a feature that should not be disabled as easily asI can disable any other tone. :(
 
This thread is way to long to go through and I am quite new to the site.

But can anybody suggest a good battery saver?

Or is it one of the cases that I need to go through each and everyone to get an acceptable app?

Juice defender comes to mind. If you are keen on some experimenting then I would reccommend Tasker. It is a great app that sets actions based on contexts. As an example you can use it to perform the same funtion as juice defender (only allow data for 2 minutes an hour) or only turn on GPS when using Maps or navigation and turn it off automatically. You can automatically enable wifi at home and disable it once you leave home.

If you read every single post I posted here, you will see that I did Google. I was looking for a community answer, you know, from someone 'closer to home' who has perhaps had the same problem. I see no reason why I should not be allowed to post this here. This is something affecting my S3.

And do you really not see the problem here? Phone beeping during the night to let me know that the battery is fully charged. What for? And no easy way to turn it off without rooting or installing apps? The beeping occurs at random times of course, depending on the battery level and what time I plug it in.
