Not a chance will I ruin my phone with a screen protector. Owned many smart phones with gorilla glass and yet to mess one up.
If peeps insist on using them then we should insist the manufactures cut costs by putting normal glass and we will cover them up with stuff ourselves to protect them :rolleyes:

I have owned phones with both Gorilla Glass and Gorilla Glass 2, hard to scratch yes, but have scratched them all.... its easier to replace a R10, R20, R300 screen protector than trying to get rid of those scratches... Worth every rand... trust me!
 
A friend of mine got his S3 in Singapore at an electronics exhibition.

When he got home he complained of dropped calls and signal problems. Now with his S3 came a free metallic looking shiny cover. After doing some tests with/without the cover and the netmonitor app we found the cover was attenuating his 3G signal by a whopping 19 dB!

Bottom line, check/test your covers and make sure they are electromagnetically transparent!

I agree with this. Can't stand those bloody things, however I do put my phone in those big rubber cases at work in case it drops. The only thing I've heard of that will scratch Gorilla glass is having sand in your pockets. Or maybe diamonds?

Then again I've never scratched any screen on any phone I've had, even plastic ones, so I don't know how badly other people treat their phones.

Yip had the same problem with my S3,used a very nice Capdase cover with a metal back.
Had some problems with signal loss every now and then, changed to a Samsung cover and have way better signal. Also noticed the gps connects way faster now.
 
Hi guys what is the latest ICS stock rom version? I'm trying to go back to to ICS from paranoid android (cm10 hybrid) to test mirrorlink on my sony xav-701bt. Currently its not working at all on cm10. So want to see if its not perhaps ROM based. But after last nights infinite boot loop (thank heavens for nandroid backup), I am not sure if I have the correct version or procedure

Ok So I redid the whole flash again. With Wipe. I then launched play store and it worked. when i did my titanium restore i just chose not to restore Play Store and its 100% now.
 
Anyone knows why Twitter, Facebook and Whattsapp not available on Samsung Apps?

I am unable to download on google play store but samsung app store works fine on my phone.

That's really weird. Fix your phone. The Play Store is a million times better than Samsung Apps. I only use the Samsung Store to download free stuff.
 
Been running Omega JB for a month now.

Why Omega? Customisation via Omega Files. And removed bloatware from the system that is very heavy on ram and battery (like Kies) and option to not have touchwhiz launcher from the get go.
 
my girlfriend has the new s3, but the internet seems to cut out the whole time, connects to wifi with no problem, but run through 3g it connects for a minute or two then doesn't want to connect and after a few attempts it connects again just to have the same story all over again. the guy at vodacom did give her a micro sim and cut up the old one, dont know if this has anything to do with it? please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have also been on it for a while for those reasons.
It also has a stock Sammy feel to it and cool to have some of the stock features.
 
I've been running Omega ROM's on my S3 since I got my phone which was 2/3 months ago. Have tried CM10 but didn't like it. In fact am busy downloading Omega v27.1 as I type this.
